I think I really, really love this jacket, Felt it and it's so soft and warm and good quality. Really tempted but at the back of my mind I've a niggling doubt about a large check . Thoughts anyone ? Oh, and I'd wear it without the furry collar. Thanks.

Not unless you're going to wear it with red trousers and a yellow scarf!

I love it. I tried on that jacket in tommy H the other day and I love it! I can't afford it even on sale but I felt good in it. I was not expecting to see that jacket when I clicked on the link.

There's another 20% off the £145 sale price in House of Fraser in Belfast if you were still interested Mag314. Do you think a large check will date badly?, I think it'll be good for a while but fear for my fashionsense.

I think it's quite preppy and should look good for a few years. Biker jackets are in right now but I couldn't say how long it will look good for. Not fashion savvy enough. All I know is, I tried it on and felt like no mofo was gonna mess with me :-p

LadyPriggsbottom · 15/02/2016 13:58

It's much nicer without the furry collar - it's a bit too Del Boy for my tastes!

I'm not totally sold on the jacket tbh. It definitely wouldn't make me think of Rupert the Bear! I like it and almost love it iykwim. I think I might prefer it if it had a hood instead of the furry collar option. I think what I'm not in love with, is that I kind of think the check print looks like it belongs on a duffle coat maybe or something else other than a biker jacket... I think it might date quickly because of that. Maybe I'm just boring though!

What would you wear it with (apart from the aforementioned yellow scarf Grin)?

Ifionlyknewthenwhatiknownow3 · 15/02/2016 14:48

Yes, it's the check that worries me, I can't think what it reminds me of. Rupert Bear was all that sprung to mind. I see where you're coming from with the duffle coat idea. Thing is though it just feels so nice and I'm wondering if I've totally lost it when I'm prepared to forego appearance for comfort. It's so soft and is beautifully lined. Who's going to see the lining ffs. Ummmm, wear with jeans and ankle boots, that'd be the height of it I'm afraid.

The furry collar is detachable. What's the code for 20% off?

burnishedsilver · 15/02/2016 15:13

Love it :-)

burnishedsilver · 15/02/2016 15:14

Dammit. Now I'm tempted. I don't need another jacket.

Ifionlyknewthenwhatiknownow3 · 15/02/2016 17:09

Sorry I don't know about a code for 20% off just that they were on a rail with a label that said 'further 20% off sale price', which was £145. Equals £116. This was HOF Belfast.

For that price they could at least have matched the checks to the sleeves on the armhole seams.

toffeeboffin · 15/02/2016 18:20

No, it's cool, I like it!

TattyDevine · 16/02/2016 14:39

It's Rupert Bear, not Rupert THE Bear Grin

For some reason, I felt the need to say that!

He's a national treasure!!!

MelanieCheeks · 16/02/2016 15:22

Does the theme tune not go:

"Ruuuu-pert, Rupert the bear, everyone knows his name!"

Ifionlyknewthenwhatiknownow3 · 16/02/2016 19:09

mmmmmm, I'd say you're probably right Tatty, his name would be Rupert Bear. On the other hand, Melanie's right too, they're the correct lyrics from his theme tune.

The covers of the books though all call him Rupert.
He's a lovely wee character either way.

I love it, with and without the collar.
