Biker boots that I won't ruin in a fortnight

I am incredibly heavy on my feet and walk a lot. My boots tend to wear through at the back of the heel within a month. This may well be because I buy cheap boots so I am hoping to find some decent biker boots in the end of season reductions... Size 7 and preferably black or grey. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Can't link off my phone but CAT biker boots.

DD had them for school and they lasted a full year with daily walk of 1 mile each way to bus stop.

What about Dms? I'm really heavy on my feet and walk everywhere due to not driving and they last me well over a year of continuous use. Not everyone's cup of tea though.

If you wear down the heel on cheap boots you'll do the same on expensive boots. A shoe repair place can put a protector on the heels to stop them wearing.

I do like the Fly boots but would like something more mid calf ....I loved my DMs in the past and they lasted forever ....are they still an absolute swine to break in?

Burnished, that sounds like a good plan but I think I do need to get some good quailty boots anyway, I destroy them! I think I walk in a way that puts pressure on the side so the actual body of the boot sort of crumples to the side!

Sounds like you pronate Onecandy, most people do to some extent according to my podiatrist. I overpronate so the outside heels of mine wear down far quicker too. Yep, Dms are still a nightmare to break in unfortunately I've found.

My frye boots have lasted for years but are not cheap. They are well made though and may be worth investing in if you are going through many pairs.

It sounds like you need some insoles that correct where the pressure is when you walk, OP. Have you ever seen a podiatrist? Your GP can refer you.

All mid calf ones. Fly boots are amazing, I've long been a lover of DMs, but these are incredible and I'm a convert after a year and three different pairs for different occasions - all of which are wearing beautifully and got lots and lots of life yet!

Frye Engineer boots. More durable than DMs and fit my feet better too. You can usually get them from Amazon. Not cheap though.

I have these. Quite a wide fit. After 1 day they were so comfy, so blisters or sore ankles. Lovely thick soles.Paid about £80 for mine on an amazon deal.

New Rock boots. I'm very, very hard on boots...my old ones lasted 10 years of almost constant wear, and my latest ones are from 2005. They're perfect inside and out and I wear them a couple of times a week.

Most of them are extreme looking, but there are plainer ones too.

Thank you for all the responses, am loving the DM Karins. The New Rock boots are amazing but can't seem to find the less extreme pairs ....not sure I could blend them into the rest of my ( very dull) wardrobe!
I did go to the doc about 10 years ago about knee pain and she said to use insoles with insteps but wouldn't refer me to a podiatrist . I will ask again, I do buy insoles but maybe I need something more!

The NHS podiatrist I was referred to said they normally don't do anything unless your feet is causing pain either there or elsewhere since most people don't have a neutral gait. Knee pain sounds typical as a result of a gait issue. They made me insoles as one of my feet needs a bit more support than the other and I'm meant to do exercises for tight hamstrings.

The pod will check what sort of shoes you normally wear. Ballet pumps are a big no-no, shoes like dms that lace up and support the ankle I got the thumbs up. Trainers are perfect but obviously not practical to wear all the time.

Re insoles; Orthaheel slimfit (kinda 3/4 in length) have been a godsend for me. Arch support as well as extra padding under balls of feet.

Took a day or so to get used to them and some shoes I have to size up to get them in but worth it!
