Male here looking for bag advice - Radley?

Hi,

I am looking to buy my wife a bag as a treat and saw a lady on the train today with a bag I thought looked good. I tracked it down and it is this one below in slate colour which I think looks really refined and classy.

www.radley.co.uk/ebury-medium-multi-compartment-tote/

I then started reading that a lot of people don't like this brand so I am having second thoughts in case people will think it is chavy or not classy enough when she takes it to work. She works as a solicitor in central London.
I can afford to spend 4-500 if needs be but the other more expensive brands I have seen seem to have a bit too much going on where as I like the simple look of this.

Any advice?

Thanks

I love radley, but not all of their bags. They are very well made. But also have a look at Michael kors, coach, mulberry. Most importantly think about the kind of bag your wife likes to use - size and style (cross body/short strap/clutch/practical for work etc)

Oh man that coach bag you chose is gorgeous. Can you talk to my husband?

Yellowaveo59 · 12/02/2016 20:13

Love the KG bag you selected my only point is my husband bought me a similar bag for Christmas it doesn't have a zip closing everything away over the central compartment I spend half the day worrying someone will steal something from it whilst squashed up against someone's armpit on the train. I am waiting for sufficient time to go past so as not to hurt DH feelings he like you puts a lot of effort into research to put it in the cupboard and bring it out for high days and holidays.

I don't work in the City but am a professional in what people might think of as a "high status" job - I don't give a thought to labels and it hasn't stopped me in my career - how depressing that it might do in other arenas.
OP - I do like that KG bag you linked to on page one Grin

AnnieNoMouse · 12/02/2016 20:30

Sorry OP - that was meant to be a positive and genuine smile - the grin makes me look as if I'm being sarcastic - that honestly wasn't the intention - I do like the bag.

I quite like the bag from the OP. I'm not 100% sure about the colour. The best bag I have had recently was Modalu pippa mini in black.

Excellent choice OP! I got the Coach Scout Hobo for my birthday last year and it has been the best every day nice handbag I've had.

foragogogo · 16/02/2016 00:14

Oh man! I want one of those in red now! Hope she loves it OP, let us know.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/02/2016 10:04

It must depend where you are - at university a lot of us had Radley purses, mainly bought as 18th/21st presents. They're very well made.

The one you chose is lovely OP, I hope she likes it Smile

Can you also please have a word with my husband, OP? That Coach bag is lovely! I want one in red.

I hope she loves it!
