Hard water effects on hair

Went away for the weekend and after washing my hair in the soft water, I really noticed a difference in my thick, prone to frizz hair. Soft, bouncy, easy to manage, like a shampoo ad.

I live in a hard water area. I use a cider vinegar rinse which helps a bit but do any of you ladies have some good tips on counteracting hard water?

You need more shampoo and spend longer lathering. Warmer/hotter water helps too.

If you look at the back of most clothes washing detergent (fairy/persil etc) they normally have a comparison chart for how much detergent you need for hard water! I know it's not shampoo but you get a sense of the different needs between hard water and soft water.

If you have the budget, a good quality shampoo really helps - like Kerastase.

When you a 'good quality shampoo' - I don't mind paying more and I've never tried Kerastase. Recommend it? Smile
