Help me choose a shellac colour

I'm off on my annual sunshine break this week and have booked myself in for a CND shellac mani and peri.

Now I'm new to all this stuff! I've only once had my nails done and that was acrylics more than 15 years ago!

The reason I don't have them done regularly is because of my job, my hands especially take a battering. My nails are very very soft and breakage is common. They are currently very short, I had tried growing them in anticipation of having them done but they broke Sad. So I'm treating myself on this occasion and I will see how it goes to whether it will become a regular thing.

Now, colour wise I have no clue! I need something that will look nice on short nails (and stumpyish fingersBlush) but nothing in your face or garish. I would like the colour to 'go' with everything. I don't mind a little sparkle either.

Any suggestions? My salon has the largest range of colours in the area.

My fave for holiday is Tropix , a bright coral . Also love Powder My Nose/ Nude knickers (?!) which is just a nude colour . I haven't done shellac for a while though as now have Opi gel .

As soon as I saw you were going on holiday I came to recommend Tropix! It's very popular so even if they were a small salon they would probably have it.

I've just googled tropix and yes I agree it's a lovely colour!

I live in the tropics and usually go for a bright coral colour... Nice and cheery and I think quite youthful so I can pretend I am a surfer girl
