Need help re wedding dress...

Hi all,

I'm getting married in April. Registry office and lunch with immediate family. I would like a nice dress (not a wedding dress) to wear but not sure where to start.

I am 5'5, size 14, big boobs (36G), slim-ish legs.

If anyone knows if some good websites or has any recommendations for me that would be fantastic :)

My style is... I don't know really. A little bit eclectic. Price - anything up to 200/300?!

Thanks 👰🏻😊

Sorry about the last few months, sounds really hard.

What part of the country do you live in? X

My price range is prob waaaaay below the above gorgeous dresses but if you like more vintagey style try lindybop or lollypop vintage. Some beautiful dresses- sorry don't know how to post link!

The Lyra dress is lovely, but the fabric probably isn't special enough for a wedding. I wish they'd use a better quality one. Anyway, how about something from St Bustier, like this? Or a bombshell dress? Sounds like you deserve something special.

Sorry the Lyra dress was my fault- I asked for something that OP owned and feels awesome in for inspiration. I don't think she was suggesting it was the one.

I want to buy it for me though!

Cric, I live in the north east :)

There are some fabulous dresses here (thank you all) - loads of food for thought. Hurrah for MN S&B!! :) - I have been flailing around the net for weeks and struggling to find anything decent!

Yeah fast, the Lyra was just an example of something that suited my body - although I wish my waist was a small as the models 😀

Yes me too! Though have just eaten a curly wurly for breakfast so no one to blame but myself.

patienceisvirtuous · 07/02/2016 09:54

I used to have a picnic and a diet coke for breakfast every work day 😳

Have boring yoghurt and fruit now though 😀

And that is why you are getting married and I'm not (disclaimer I know this is not true and very sure your OH loved you just as much on the picnic breakfasts and the yoghurt ones!)

Very very very far from the shop I was going to suggest haha!

fredandme123 · 07/02/2016 10:02

A friend on mine bought an ivory bridesmaid dress for her wedding rather than a wedding dress, might be worth looking at bmaids dresses in a local shop? Saved her lots of money and 200-300 would be a very healthy budget for a bridesmaid dress!

Love, love, love the coat dress and the two that mimi linked to.

patienceisvirtuous · 07/02/2016 10:37

Fast - the picnic brekkies only stopped a couple of weeks ago 😄

There are some lovely dresses linked here but I wouldn't go for sleeveless with a bolero - it's just telling the world you don't like your arms. Out of the sleeved dresses, I love the Phase 8 textured red dress that Lady linked.

I'm sorry for your losses and hope you have a lovely day.
