Now there's a sentence you don't hear very often on her! I've bought this dress to wear to a wedding. I have some navy heels, but need a cover up of some sort? Thinking nude tights?

(If anyone moans about the dress I DID ask for help a while ago and didn't get any, this is what happens when I'm left on my own!)

I like the dress, but I think that some of the stick m&s get is a bit ott.

I'd pair it with a cardigan, pointy flats, and a big bright necklace.

burnishedsilver · 06/02/2016 16:04

Is the top navy or black?

Ginmakesitallok · 06/02/2016 16:04

Navy

Nude tights, navy shoes, red or lime green bag.
I'd like a navy fitted jacket with it but matching shades of navy can be tricky.

Coast

M&S

TSSDNCOP · 06/02/2016 18:03

i would go with a coat. I'm trying and failing to link to a coat on the JL website called Cheska, navy heels and clutch.

73dexter · 06/02/2016 18:15

Don't wear a cardigan. Get a jacket or a coat. Nude tights sound good.

Ginmakesitallok · 06/02/2016 18:45

Am seeing chesca coats on john lewis - but none I would wear. Like the m&s spotty one, but it's not on the UK site? What about this one?

Sorry, I thought I was on the UK site.

I like the jacket you've linked to.

IWannaHoldYourHand · 07/02/2016 08:49

How old are you op? I think that jacket plays up to the old lady view of m&s.

Ginmakesitallok · 07/02/2016 08:57

Have found it on uk site- will have a look at both, thank you! Now just need a bag/necklace

Way too young for that jacket!

SavoyCabbage · 07/02/2016 20:50

I've tried that jacket on. I looked like Dorien out of 'Birds of a Feather'.

candykane25 · 07/02/2016 20:54

I like yellow with navy. I would go with yellow jacket, navy heels.
If wearing a necklace I would keep it simple. Maybe a daisy on a chain. Buts that's me.

Ginmakesitallok · 07/02/2016 22:16

I need links people! !!

With such a neutral palette, you could really make your outfit all about the coat. It's still a little early for spring coats, but usually shops like Coast, Phase Eight, even M&S do some lovely bright colours that would really add a zing to your outfit. Something like this shape and pattern but not as long: Ted Baker would sit well over the skirt of your dress.

There's not much around at the moment, though, is there? Is borrowing something from a friend an option, if your wedding is coming up soon?

Potterwolfie · 08/02/2016 14:39

I have that jacket...it's lovely! I wore it for an interview and also wear with skinny jeans...it's not old fashioned, surely it's about how you wear something?

barleysugar · 08/02/2016 16:25

It's a lovely dress! Is there a link to it?

Ginmakesitallok · 08/02/2016 18:49

I'm size 18/20, 5ft 9 ish

Love the yellow coat. Weddings not for a couple of months, so time to wait for spring things

What about red? You could add a red belt and jacket.

Tres chic Wink
