Magic product to minimise pores?

Ponymagic · 06/02/2016 10:51

Apart from the fact that my foundation slides and then disappears as the day goes on, I have quite a lot of pores around my nose. Is there anything to use under my foundation which will minimise/camouflage them? I don't use a primer and wonder whether using one might help?

Thanks!

Any primer that has a lot of silicone will help. You don't have to spend much. Maybelline and L'Oreal do decent ones. Just watch how much silicone is in your other products, like moisturiser, to avoid it all balling up.

Benefit do a pore minimiser which can be used over/under make up, it's called something like pore-fessional. I like it a lot!

CoolToned · 06/02/2016 18:46

Just bought It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores powder at Sephora. The brand is supposed to be good for the skin, too.

WileHallion · 06/02/2016 18:48

Benefit Porefessional

Maybelline Baby Skin is a cheaper dupe.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 06/02/2016 19:30

Mac Prime + Prep stuff is pretty good for disguising pores.

Nabootique is sillicon what causes certain face creams and products of mine to all clump up on my face? I have that problem a lot, even when using very small amounts with some products. (Sorry to hijack but I've always wondered what this is!)

WilLiAmHerschel · 06/02/2016 19:35

When I say clump, I mean it all forms into little bits when I rub it in, rather than absorbing into my skin.

WhoisLucasHood · 06/02/2016 21:19

I like the Maybelline baby skin.

BatmanLovesPeaceAndQuiet · 06/02/2016 21:21

Benefit Porefessional is brilliant.

Ooh, marking my place to read these answers later...

JimineyJelickers · 06/02/2016 22:44

Watching with interest: I love Porefessional. I heard Maybelline Baby Skin was a cheap dupe but loads of reviews said it's only suitable for people with dry skin. For oil slick skin people like me, and like the OP by the sounds of it, it doesn't work at all.

Nabootique · 06/02/2016 23:03

Wil Yes, it sounds like it. Try and keep something low silicone or silicone free. I have silicone in my day cream, usually, and my foundation, but not my primer. Also check your serum if you use one.

Ponymagic · 06/02/2016 23:08

Thanks all ... quite a few Benefit fans. I'll have a look in-store but will go straight to Benefit!

I love pore-fessional too, but also olay's pore-minimising cc cream (the one in a tube, not the pump action thing). I find I don't really need foundation with it, just a light dusting of powder to mattify.

Higge · 06/02/2016 23:18

Benefit worked but my skin hated it. Now looking elsewhere!

ConesOfDunshire · 06/02/2016 23:25

Clinique Instant Perfector. It is the nuts (and better than Porefessional IMHO). I dread Clinique ever discontinuing it.

WilLiAmHerschel · 07/02/2016 11:09

Thanks Nabootique. I have wondered what caused that for ages. Smile
