If you could only use a single item of make up, it would have to be....

Eyeliner for me.
My eyes look like currants without it. I look tired and old. But with it... Less tired and merely getting on a bit.

What's your single item?
NO cheating with multi function things like using lipstick as blusher. It's a lipstick OR a blusher, not both!

Mascara

hilbil21 · 05/02/2016 22:43

Mac concealer

DanceTheBlues · 05/02/2016 22:43

Mascara. I've got red hair and blonde lashes so I look like a blind fox without it.

thegiddylimit · 05/02/2016 22:43

I work with a woman who never leaves the house without makeup. Except this week she's been working in our clean rooms and so can't wear make up. And do you know what? She is a VERY attractive woman and looks great without makeup. In fact I think she probably looks better because normally you see the makeup whereas now you just think 'wow, she really is naturally gorgeous'.

For me it's Vaseline lipsalve which isn't really makeup but it is essential. But I love my E45 moisturizer as well. Anything else I can live without.

A bit of eyebrow shaping can really open up your eyes and make you look polished. I don't do anything too adventurous tweezer-wise; just pluck the really obvious strays. I get them tinted - they are dark already but it covers the fine lighter hairs, which helps them look fuller. It also means that in the mornings I only need to very quickly dab on a bit of brow shadow applied with a very fine brush to fill in any tiny gaps and they're done.

FlatOnTheHill · 05/02/2016 23:25

Blusher. Im so pale I look like Casper

LovelyFriend · 05/02/2016 23:38

On the past I would have gone for mascara.

But now 100% it's lipstick.

tiredbuthappyworkingmum · 05/02/2016 23:46

Undereye concealer

MrsGToYou · 05/02/2016 23:49

Come and ask this over in MrsGloss&TheGoss on Facebook , they'd love it!

MadameDePompom · 05/02/2016 23:53

Presuming my eyelashes are already tinted I'm going to say concealer.

I'd channel my inner 17th century siren by using squashed hawthorn berries as my blusher and lipstick.

NattyGolfJerkin · 06/02/2016 00:00

Mascara. I need my eyelash curlers too though please.

HollyJollyDillydolly · 06/02/2016 01:17

Concealer.

harrasseddotcom · 06/02/2016 01:26

eyebrows for me too. I splashed out (by my standards) on wunderbrow. And it is pretty amazing.

echt · 06/02/2016 01:50

Mascara. I'm lucky in that I have long eyelashes so big them up.

Though the concealer to hide sun spots runs a close second.Sad

SecretWitch · 06/02/2016 01:54

Fresh lip balm. I can throw my sunnies on and fake everything else!

diggerdigsdogs · 06/02/2016 02:24

Mascara

Or if I can have eyebrows and eyelashes tinted and choose another product it would be lipstick.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 06/02/2016 08:36

Lipstick. I feel instantly brighter when I put it on.

hollieberrie · 06/02/2016 08:51

Oooh this is tricky.

The acne covered teenage me wouldve said foundation. But now i'm older and my skins a bit better, i think id have to say eye liner pencil.

Jmangel What are your 11 key products? (Nosey!).

Torn between blusher and lipstick. If I don't use the former, my mother asks whether I am ill. But lips are one of my best features, and lipstick always cheers me up.

EmmaWoodlouse · 09/02/2016 20:27

Mascara, because it makes the single biggest difference to how I look, although having said that I am perfectly happy to go out with no make-up at all.

people who wear visible eyeshadow and no mascara look very, very strange to me.

SisterMoonshine · 09/02/2016 20:30

Eyeliner.
I tried to give it up a few years ago, but got fed up of everyone asking if I was ok, how tired I look etc.
I won't try that again.
