According to everyone over in MrsGloss&TheGoss on Facebook, the in primer is Nivea men's aftershave balm. The 'sensitive' one. It's supposed to trounce all the pricey ones in terms of performance. Have you used it?

D1 has just bought this. Will ask how she's getting on with it.

Seahorsecandy · 30/01/2016 19:26

Seems a bit strange to me! It's only about a fiver though so could be worth a punt. I usually wear Hourglass so a saving would be excellent

My favourite YouTuber tried it and didn't rate it. Not sure if she specified the sensitive one but she said it had too strong a smell.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/01/2016 19:51

It does smell a little 'manly' (I tried it on my hand when dd bought it) initially but it soon fades. It did make my hand feel lovely and smooth!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/01/2016 19:52

Just messaged her. She says she really, really likes it.

TannhauserGate · 30/01/2016 19:56

Dare I ask what a primer is?

fruitpastille · 30/01/2016 20:00

Well that's irritating as I just spent 23 quid on a bare minerals one! And I am not really a primer kind of person.

Seahorsecandy · 30/01/2016 20:08

It's a hotly debated topic in Gloss.

Got be worth a try for the price

I knew what this post would be avoid as soon as I saw it Grin

I'm still unsure about whether to give it a go or not.

Seahorsecandy · 30/01/2016 20:54

It's not something I'd have considered before Grin

Tann you put it on a clean face before foundation and it makes your make up go on smoother and last longer.

I don't think I'll try the Nivea balm. I can't get on board with Lanacane anti chafing gel either.

TannhauserGate · 30/01/2016 21:57

Ah, thank you Smile

AllThreeWays · 30/01/2016 22:22

I have been using it for about 6 months. It works really well for me and I'm in Australia, so it's a bit hot at the moment. The man smell fades very quickly, I use it with the goss method, which is primer, then powder the foundation.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/01/2016 18:26

DD1 says:

No good for dry skin.
You need a clean, dry face.
It absorbs pretty quickly but you do need to give it a good five minutes to ensure your skin is ready for makeup. Once it's absorbed, your skin will feel soft and smooth. Yes, your face will smell a bit manly, but after all your makeup is on you won't be left with any scent.
If you rub the product in, it crumbles. Disaster.
What you do need is a stippling brush or beauty blender - have found a Real Techniques stippling brush to work wonders.

Good tips!

Had to purchase Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/02/2016 20:18

Hope you like it. I plan to nick dd's for a try-out next time she comes home.

73dexter · 01/02/2016 20:31

My dh uses this so I will try it when my primer runs out. It does have quite a smell though.

Owl1nATowel · 01/02/2016 20:47

Yes it's a little masculine!

73dexter · 02/02/2016 11:04

I tried it today as the bottle was there. I prefer my normal primer tbh and don't see why it is supposed to be so great. It is also a little odd to smell of my dh! I keep getting whiffs of it!

sacbina · 02/02/2016 17:13

Been using it for years and find it great for my skin. I like the fresh smell and it feels nice and light, it's not as greasy or sickly floral smelling as women's products

MrsGToYou · 04/02/2016 18:02

Ooh going to try this

littlewoollypervert · 04/02/2016 18:09

I find Lanacane brilliant. I've run out so I'm using up some L'Oreal Studio Secrets which is more than twice the price, I'm a sucker for a bargain so may pick some of the Nivea up after work this evening!

MrsGToYou · 04/02/2016 18:21

Dozens of women over on Mrs gloss surely can't be wrong ?! Grin

AnitaPooh · 04/02/2016 18:43

Does anybody know of a primer that doesn't have silicone in it? The Studio Secrets one and the Lanacane anti-chafing one bring me out in spots
