I have been growing out my very short hair since September-I fancy a jaw length bob with some layers for movement- I prefer choppier/messy hair rather than sleek.

However I am at that hideous stage-I had it cut yesterday to remove the mullet, but I have that odd looking almost Lego person cut.

Do I straighten it, curl it, put it behind my ears, put a hair band in. I am 50 with straight laced public facing job so can't go too wacky.

I had been clipping the front back, but since the cut it didn't look right, which now means I have a sort of fringe which really isn't helping!

Are you on FB? Come and join MrsGloss&TheGoss - they're so lovely over there and were so helpful when I wanted a completely restyle , loads of hairdressers there

Can you experiment with some of that hair product - I can't think of a specific name, but it's not a wax, not a gel, but you put it in and you can rework it throughout the day. I used that when I was growing out my short, playmobil hair.

Try XXL plumping powder by Batiste (boots sell it) little pot use a wee bit at the roots and you are replump ad lib all day it sort of sticks it where you need it without being greasy

I don't want to put a photo up and out myself, but that top one is a bit like it-my hair is shorter, not quite at my jaw, and more layers, so if I brush it back it looks like a 70's footballer- it's quite grim really.

I will look at the FB group and try different products

Thanks for the replies
