Longchamp Le Pliage - suitable as baby changing bag?

Pregnant with my first and don't really have any existing bags that would be suitable as a nappy/changing bag.

Would a medium or large longchamp tote be suitable or am I being daft and need to get something sturdier with compartments?

Bit clueless but want to get something that looks nice and not brightly patterned like a lot of changing bags I've seen.

I think it would be perfect. Changing bags tend to be needlessly complicated and bulky imo.

Those that use them - do you have the large or medium sized tote?

Get one with long handles.

And see if you can find some lightweight zipped bags (toiletry bags) to keep stuff organised - nappy stuff, feeding stuff and change of clothes.

Get a cross-body handbag for purse, keys, phone, which you can chuck in the top, or wear when you leave the buggy parked up somewhere.

Yes! I've used mine as one for both DD1 and 2. I'm not a compartment person so preferred this over the rigid bulky mothercare one I initially bought. I just have a smaller vanity bag to inside for the nappies, wipes etc. And then just have bottles in the main part.

I have the large (£67 option on Selfridges website, if that's what you mean), the one with the shoulder strap. But I have no baby, so I may or may not be talking shite, but I would also get a large, cheap washbag type thing to contain as much of the baby stuff as possible. The bag holds a lot, but that also makes smaller stuff like keys and glasses hard to find if you've got loads in it. Least if you can remove the changing stuff easily it makes things a bit easier

You could do a lot worse, they're lightweight, hard wearing, pack up for storage/travel and you can put them in the washing machine and they come out like new.

Get the large one.
In a dark colour. I have a black one and a mint green. The green one shows every mark, the black is indestructible!
Might sling the green through the wash - didn't know you could so that.

I used this for both my babies. Have one in every colour thanks to a great place in Turkey that does really good faked (Ooops!)

I had a Quinny pram that came with a really handy bag for all the baby stuff, and I bought myself a Mulberry Anthony!

Yep, I use one. I have a changing mat from JoJo Maman that folds out and has two little pouches-one for a pack of wipes and the other fits a couple of nappies. I keep that in my bag, along with a plastic pouch with sudocream, teething stuff, calpol and then some loose snacks, clean clothes and my purse, keys etc. Worked well for me.

I find it a fab days our/swimming/beach bag but didn't work when ever were babies. Mine were all bf so didn't need bottles. Now dc3 is a toddler, a fold up mat, makeup type bag with wipes/nappies/sacks/cream plus spare pants/hats/gloves etc for the older two and snacks etc it's fab. A separate small cross body bag with my purse/phone/keys so you can dash after them or plonk inside works well. I found my favourite bags were made by Sugarjack and Storksak, they do practical totes and lovely leather bags with lots of lovely pockets/sections to organise and tidy everything. They don't look like 'baby' bags just lovely bags. I do miss the organisation of them!

Dc3 also has a Mr Tickle mini backpack for when he's at the childminders on my work days - not very Style and Beauty though

Yep I used one up until about a month ago and make DH take a rucksack out now! They are great as you will use it once your baby has grown up too. I personally hated the yummy mummy type change bags but it's a personal preference thing. I've got a couple of other le pliage bags that I sue for work and the quality on them is great plus they're nice and light when not full of baby wipes!

Or even use not sue for work!

You could but would need some little bags to keep things in inside like a nappy changing wallet type thing. It would definitely need to be the long handle one and it would be hard to hang over a pushchair.

Have you seen the Tiba and marl changing bags. Or the jem and bea ones. Both are lovely.

Another option are the gwynneth bags from day birger
