Which TV character's clothes do you covet?

I've been watching back-to-back episodes of Elementary and love Joan Watson's clothes, especially her shift dresses. I've already started to try and track down some similar designs.

What TV character's clothes do you love and would you try to dress like them?

Oh also Dany from Game of Thrones but I'd never wear it in real life Grin

LadyPriggsbottom · 30/01/2016 13:29

YY to some of the women's outfits in Suits, but some of them are just horrible! I remember thinking the stylist must have a secret hatred for Jessica and Donna on a couple of occasions.

dannydyerismydad · 30/01/2016 13:51

None of the characters in Balamory, that's for sure? Who wants their wardrobe limited by the colour of their pebble dash?

I love the 1920s fashions - Downton and House of Elliott years ago were beautiful clothes.

TSSDNCOP · 30/01/2016 13:58

Definitely Clare Underwood in HoC, Dianne from the Good Wife and I'd love to look as cool as Saga in The Bridge in a pair of leather pants and a t shirt.

midsomermurderess · 30/01/2016 13:59

I second Gro from Legacy, and her hair.

thenightsky · 30/01/2016 14:04

Carla Connor from Coronation Street.

desperatehousewife21 · 30/01/2016 14:05

I like Hannah and a little bit of Emily from pretty little liars and Carla from Corrie.

midsomermurderess · 30/01/2016 14:22

And Josephine in Spiral and her fabulous red hair. I seem to have hair envy:-S

Ughnotagain · 30/01/2016 14:24

Sarah Manning from Orphan Black. I feel like it should be easy but I've tried and it somehow isn't...

Clara from Doctor Who but only sometimes; it's sometimes a bit twee for me.

Does anyone remember the TV programme (decades ago) called House of Elliot.

It was set in the 1920's about 2 sisters who ran a couture dress salon.

The clothes were beyond lush! Beautiful beaded dresses, wide leg trousers, silky blouses etc

polyhymnia · 31/01/2016 00:16

Oh gosh Josephine in Spiral is just stunning.

Bunbaker · 31/01/2016 00:21

"Oh gosh Josephine in Spiral is just stunning."

Yes she is. I hope there is another series soon.

I think Connie in Casualty always looks elegant. I wish I had slim hips like her.

SansaryaAgain · 31/01/2016 09:04

Gillian Anderson's silk blouses in The Fall.

Pretty much anything worn by Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope.

Juliana Margulies' suits in The Good Wife.

And it's a movie rather than a TV show, but I loved Kirsten Wiig's Bridesmaids wardrobe!

SansaryaAgain · 31/01/2016 09:05

Oh, and Mary and Edith from Downton of course!

Cerseirys · 31/01/2016 09:06

Yellow, I remember House of Elliot. But what I remember the most was French and Saunders spoofing it as House of Idiot!

MrsPeacockDidIt · 31/01/2016 09:38

Joan from elementary for me too. I've bought 2 dresses from all saints because I saw them on her. Her stuff is easy to find thanks to "worn on tv" website.

I also like what the presenter from Interior design challenge wears and hunted her down on Facebook to find a dress she had worn. Turned out to be my first (but not last) purchase from whistles.

Dafspunk · 31/01/2016 09:39

Gemma on Sons of Anarchy.

OhMrBadger · 31/01/2016 09:51

Oh my goodness, Yy to The House of Eliott. Especially in the last series. It was the coats and hats that got me. How I wish they'd bring it back.

And Nicky Alexander in Silent Witness. Edith in Downton always had the best wardrobe. Oh - and Audrey from To The Manor Born! So very County Lady. And Mariette from The Darling Buds of May.

snowypenguin · 31/01/2016 09:57

Lady Mary and Lady Edith!

NoahVale · 31/01/2016 12:04

oh yes, lady mary and lady edith, agree there

MmeGuillotine · 31/01/2016 14:50

Phryne Fisher's flapper dresses, velvet coats, silken nightwear and oh, everything really.

HMF1 · 31/01/2016 15:03

Claire Underwood, the Good Wife any of the coats from War & Peace. I am so hoping this is an influence in Winter 2016. Also not a character but I have been watching Lucy Worsley' s programme on BBC4 on the Romanov' s & definetly had wardrobe envy. Lastly my absolute fantasy is to have one of those dresses from an old musical (think Fred & Ginger ) soth the maribou feathers round the hem. They used to occasionally feature in Strictly but in the last series the costumes were mainly very poor.

HMF1 · 31/01/2016 15:05

I completely forgot Joan from Madmen.

omri · 31/01/2016 15:09

Definitely claire underwood from house of cards. Every. Single. Outfit.

findingmyfeet12 · 31/01/2016 15:11

The teacher in Doc Martin (who he marries).
