Will a tulip skirt suit a pear shape?

Or just massively accentuate problem areas?
I have a small waist, big upper thighs and bum and ok legs.

I can't try skirt on as it's a pattern I'm thinking of making.

...and YY haltwrs narrow not widen. Pear shape has as much to do with shoulders as boobs!

Is this the Sew Over It Tulip Skirt? I am also thinking of making it - it looks fab on Lisa Comfort.

Sadly, I'm not blessed in the hips/bum/thighs department so I'm also sceptical as to whether it will suit me. I blame Instagram - I keep seeing lovely dresses/skirts other people have made and want one too! When really most of this outfits aren't practical or wouldn't be flattering on me.

There is nothing to be sad about not having large hips and thighs.

squizita · 29/01/2016 18:11

If you make it out of the right fabric it might look boosted?

TheLittleFoxes · 29/01/2016 18:40

When I said not blessed, I meant ai have a massive behind and thunder thighs!

I'm nowhere near a pear shape (appley top-heavy) so make of this what you will: I've seen pear shapes looking fabulous in tulip skirts, or dresses with tulip skirts. As PP have said, it will depend on the length, cut and fabric. in most cases heels help, but it depends on the look you're going for. I think Lily Allen who is definitely a pear has worn them and looked fab.

Another pear here.
I really think it depends on the material.
Not all pears are created equal.

a tulip shape in a woven brocade fabric with a petal overlap in the front and back wd bring in the hemline, have enuf stiffness to hide the hip and thigh bulk, and have give for walking at the hem.
