Just been told that boots no longer do this clear matte make up base. I'm almost all out and am not sure what the alternatives are for a colourless matte base.

Op I would ask to have this moved to the style and beauty board, much more knowledge there Smile

It's in stock online www.boots.com/en/No7-Beautifully-Matte-Make-up-Base-40ml_1273623/

I got some no 7 primer in a set at Christmas, seems to be a very similar product

RedMapleLeaf · 27/01/2016 18:33

I love the one that Avon do.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/01/2016 19:23

I was gutted when I tried to buy this. I loved it and was the only primer that worked for me. After looking at online reviews, the best one for keeping shine at bay seems to be Rimmel stay matte primer which I'm hoping to buy in Superdrug. Anyone tried this? Most other primers are too greasy for me or too damn expensive.

cannaethink · 27/01/2016 22:11

I use the Rimmel mentioned above and really like it. It's not greasy. I was using a Bourjouis one before that, maybe happy light?, which is also a good matte one but twice the price of Rimmel for half the amount of primer.

ItsAllGoodMan · 27/01/2016 22:22

I was using a bourjois happy light matte one but have just switched to this and it's lovely

Great thanks. Some great recommendations Smile

L'Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer is amazing . I have very oily skin and it's one of the best I've used and I have tried loads. It leaves your skin feeling silky soft and controls the oiliness well. It's only around £8.00 I think.

Nabootique · 28/01/2016 05:53

Sorry about the disappointing link OP. Hope you find a replacement that you like.

dreich · 28/01/2016 06:30

I've been using a smash box one which is fabulous but pricey. Think I'll give some of the ones recommended in this thread a go.

Soooosie · 28/01/2016 08:19

Thanks for searching Nab 😄

I'm Going to try a few of these. Thank you

I have made a complaint to Boots for discontinuing this product. I have searched high and low for a replacement - spent a small fortune, but nothing compares! Boots replied back stating that if they get enough complaints, they may bring it back, so there may be hope!

Do complain! I found out about 6 months ago and wrote to Boots - they said they would bring it back if there was strong enough feeling about it. Together we can prevail!

Gah81 · 07/03/2017 19:57

And Becca is supposed to be good - similar kind of texture - most of the others out there are too slippy and slidey for me. I like something with grip :D
