dying hair blonde at home?

I'm having a hair disaster. I've had 3 home hairdressers cancel/not turn up on me since September and one disastrous trip to a salon where they forgot to put bleach in my highlights and it didn't look like anything had been done when the foil came off!

I don't want to go back to a salon really, I used to pre babies and just can't afford the £100+ price tag anymore...so has anyone had any success dying their hair blonde with an at home kit? My hair is mousey light brown and half way down my old blonde highlights start!

Thanks for any advice, am getting desperate here! Haven't had a colour put in since July and it looks horrible as it is Confused

I occasionally do my own highlights between hairdresser visits and it works fine although it's a bit of a faff with the old-fashioned cap and crochet hook. Is that what you meant?

I am now thinking of trying an all-over colour I can do myself at home. I looked in boots today but didn't really know what I was looking for.

I was thinking more an all over colour as I'm not confident I could do highlights myself, but again not sure if a block colour would look good Confused

I have dark brown hair and I do mine at home. I put jerome russell b. Blonde lighter on the roots. Then put an ash blonde dye over the top •.
When I did it for the first time it was quite orange so I would do it when you don't have to go out for a few days. Just in case!

That's a good tip thanks would never have thought to double up hair dyes!
Going orange is my fear Confused
