What's good at The Body Shop?

HelloCanYouHearMe · 24/01/2016 17:41

They keep emailing me and now I have an offer worth spending money on... but I havent shopped there since I was about 12.

I've got combination blemish prone skin, dry cracked hands, bumpy thighs and love a nice fresh smelling shower gel....

Hit me with what's good, if you will!

They have monthly 40% off sales so I don't think they really expect people to pay the non sale price.

Nabootique · 25/01/2016 10:12

Camomile cleansing butter
Coconut and shea butter shower gels
Satsuma body butter
Red Musk perfume (just discovered this and I think it will replace all other perfumes)
Vitamin E and C facial sprays
Vitamin E serum in oil is quite good

I really miss the Blue Corn scrub mask and the Rice bran scrub. Caroline Hirons just did a post on what is good to buy from there skin care wise. I haven't tried a lot of the things on the list, but might be worth checking out.

Juliecloud · 25/01/2016 16:46

I was just coming on to post the same thing! I saw a 40% off code and wondered if anything was worth buying.

MeadowHay · 25/01/2016 16:58

Makeup brushes.
Tea-tea zit oil thing, it's just a tiny little bottle and you apply it to calm down spots, it's the only thing of it's kind that I find actually seems to make any difference to a big spot.
Body butters.
Hand creams.
Lip balms.
Shower gels.
Shower scrub poofy things, I don't know what they're called!
Vitamin E eye cream.
Foot creams.

WellTidy · 25/01/2016 18:41

Hemp hand cream is amazing, by far the best thing in there IMO

The Argan oil body products are also nice

I don't like anything fruity smelling, so that rules out a lot of what they sell for me

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 25/01/2016 18:49

I also recommend the Hemp hand cream. They used to do a foot cream, not sure if they still do, it was lovely.

ouryve · 25/01/2016 18:55

I'm allergic to the hemp hand cream. It left my hands an horrible mess.

I tend to over-indulge on lush, these days. Most of their stuff actually seems to agree with my horribly temperamental skin and DS1 loves it in there. If it encourages him to keep clean, it's good, in my book!

ouryve · 25/01/2016 18:56

Tempted to try some of that zit oil, though. DH still gets some corkers and DS1's skin is beginning to look decidedly teenage.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 25/01/2016 19:03

The Chamomile cleansing butter is the most lovely cleanser ever. I am almost at the end of my first tin and will definitely rebuy again and again. It's divine. I still rate the Vit E range. The Nutriganics range is supposed to be good but I haven't tried it. The Cocoa body butter is my favourite ever body moisturiser, other cocoa butter formulations just smell too icky and sweet while this is great.

The Hemp hand cream always gets amazing reviews but the smell is rank, and gives me a headache.

Ouryve - have you tried La Roche Posay Effaclar for spots? It has transformed dd.

Longislandicetee · 25/01/2016 20:20

I used the recent 40% code to stock up on the Shea body butter and the shower gels.

Potterwolfie · 25/01/2016 20:23

I like the vitamin c serum.

MeetMyCat · 25/01/2016 20:28

They do a great concealer crayon, and they sell a chunky pencil sharpener to go with it, which is really handy.

MeadowHay · 25/01/2016 21:52

Meet, I might try that concealer. I tried a different one from them in a lipstick-style tube, which got ruined straight away one time when I left it in my bag whilst I was out, and I also was not impressed with the consistency of it/how it went on, or the staying power and felt it was a really strange colour on my skin too :S was dead disappointed with that! My fave concealer at the moment is the 3 in 1 set by Soap and Glory, think it's ace!

Tate15 · 25/01/2016 21:55

I hadn't bought anything for ages then read some reviews and bought Hemp face protector. It's fantastic. I wear it under make up and its lovely.

I also bought the aloe restoring mask and although it says use weekly I use a little but every night and it is fabulous.

Twindroops · 26/01/2016 13:08

Hemp hand cream, Shea and Argan Oil Body butters, Mango shower gel is a lovely "clean" one but not too Fruity smelling.

Seaweed clay mask brill, Coconut oil hair cream stuff (in a tin, like an old fashioned shoe polish).

Their makeup brushes are fab too.

moogalicious · 26/01/2016 13:09

Another vote for the hemp hand cream.

donadumaurier · 26/01/2016 16:35

I wanted to love their tea tree face stuff but it totally fucked up my skin :( Love their shower gels and body lotions though.

westcountrywoman · 26/01/2016 18:52

Hemp hand cream (although the last couple of tubes I bought have been noticeably less thick and didn't work so well. Hoping it was a dodgy batch rather than reformulation).

Oils of life facial oil and cream are amazing.

nickdrakeslovechild · 26/01/2016 21:22

If you do double cleansing then the chamomile oil or butter followed up with the aloe cleanser is fantastic.

Oly5 · 26/01/2016 21:42

I love body shop
I love the white musk range - so shoot me!
Shower gels
Body butters
Lip balms

chumbler · 26/01/2016 21:51

Buying from the body shop profits Nestlé, boycottnestle.blogspot.co.uk/2006/11/body-shop.html?m=1

redstrawberries101 · 29/01/2016 10:44

My fave is the oat mask, moisturising and gentle exfoliation all in one!

I use the seaweed range but in the past used aloe - both amazing
