Anybody got Ash Virginy Trainers? Advice please!

Hello! In the sales I bought a pair of Ash Virginy trainers, (fleecey shearling type), for £57.
They have arrived and I can't decide wether to keep them or not.. If anybody has them, how well do they last? Did you use a suede/leather spray to weather proof them? Did it work well? And how long can I expect these to last with daily wear? How are they in rain etc?
Although I got then hugely discounted they are still really expensive for me, I need to be sure they will last!
Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Did you see liquiproof demo on Dragons den? No idea if it works as never tried it but if it does, would be ideal for these.

I didn't see it but just had a look at a description of the product, looks great! But I'm guessing it's probably not available to buy yet!?

I've just ordered some. You can get it on Amazon. They have different kinds for fabric, leather and suede footwear. I'm really hoping it was as good as the demo. The guy poured red wine on his suite and it ran off.

I've got these had them about six months. I love them so much I order the leather too. The sheepskin are really warm and comfy. I gave them a spray with protector and they e been fine. They are not really meant to be worn in the rain but I've worn them and they've been fine.

I would massively recommend them they feel like uggs but a bit more stylish!

Have had the non sheepskin ones for 2 years and they are in good nick with regular wear. Comfy too.

Do you walk a lot? I do (chocolate runs etc) and the soles on these do not last AT ALL. Within a few months they let in water. If you drive, cycle etc then they'll be fine as the leather bit lasts fairly well.

Ladyofthepalace · 20/01/2016 19:15

Chocolate runs?
School runs!

Cuttysarky · 20/01/2016 19:52

Chocolate runs sounds so much better! I do walk a lot, in all weathers for hours every day.. Hmmm thinking possibly they're not the shoe for me.. I need something quite tough! Wide problematic feet with bunions, and was very excited that I could fit into these, think that's part of the reason I am reluctant to return. Aahh decisions decisions!!

The soles are rubbish.

If you walk a lot, they're not going to last very long.

louloubelle2 · 20/01/2016 20:21

Agree with all PPs, the soles are rubbish, and they have no support for long periods of walking, same as converse.

Buttwing · 20/01/2016 21:57

I don't really walk much they are a fashion shoe so I wouldn't expect them to be exceptionally hard wearing.

Joneseygirl77 · 21/01/2016 07:59

I've just bought some Virgins and love them. They are so comfy and look good too. Would definitely recommend them from a comfort/style perspective.
