Hi. I'm looking for foundation recommendations - cheap or mid range. I like mousse foundations except the Maybelline which is too drying. Unfortunately they keep being discontinued. I used to use the Loreal and the Max Factor version. I'm currently using the no.7 foundation, but it doesn't seem to blend quite well enough, again probably because my skin is a bit dry. I have dark under-eye circles that I'd like to hide as much as possible. I don't like Bobbi Brown (too drying) or Bare Minerals (coverage too light). Any suggestions?

What kind of coverage do you need?
What do you use to apply your foundation?

Medium coverage or even strong coverage as long as it blends in. I use a sponge, never really got on with brushes or fingers.

I use clinque beyond perfecting 2 in 1 foundation and concealer it has changed my life it covers everything...
And Google beauty blenders similar to a sponge but spreads makeup evenly and gives brilliant coverage. Also stops the attractive patchy look lol!

The beauty blenders are about a 5er in super drug but seriously the best thing ever!

Thanks. Never heard of beauty blenders. Clinique is a bit expensive, though I would go for it if it was really amazing.

Avon Powder Foundation is good.

Clinique cc cream ... Alone in the summer and under no 7 luminous foundation ( lady in boots put an computer thing on my face and it read out my perfect colour match ) and it was perfect .
Also if youve got under eye issues Id Rec YSL touché eclait .... Expensive but fab.

It's not on the cheap end of the scale, but your skin sounds a lot like mine and I swear by Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm. It's buildable coverage and moisturizing. I use a lighter layer for foundation then an extra layer under the eyes and it works very well.

Oh, and I use a foundation brush.

gwen I pay 30 quid for it and it lasts me months. It has like a spongey stick so u use bare minimum I love it

Just started using Elzabeth Arden mousse foundation. Priced slightly above mid range, but not as expensive as other brands.

I've tried so many foundations over the years because my skin is terrible. It's very oily, red, scarred and can get very dry in places.

If you're looking for affordable options I'd recommend Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation or the L'Oreal True Match foundation. The L'Oreal one has higher coverage, you might need a concealer for your under eye area if you use the Bourjois one (Collection Lasting Perfection concealer is a steal and one I always have in my makeup stash) but they should both give a nice finish to your skin if it is dry.

I've finally found the perfect foundation which is Nars Sheer Glow (if you're very pale, the Siberia shade is the lightest foundation I have ever tried which is a bonus, it is a tad yellow though) and it's so dreamy. It blends perfectly, has medium-high coverage and leaves my skin with a natural look. It is £31.00 though which sucks, but I do believe sometimes you have to spend more. I've never tried a foundation like it! It's fantastic.

Thanks, but that's a highlighter, not a concealer. I used to use it, but it's not meant for people with very dark circles really.

I need much more coverage than a cc cream cold give. I'll look into the no.7 foundation though.

beauty, I used to use True Match, but moved on to L'Oreal's mousse foundation, which they've since discontinued. I have the Collection concealer as well, but it doesn't hide the shadows - nothing does really and I find that a strong foundation is often better than concealer anyway.

I've tried the bourgeois healthy mix and the reckon foundations recommends here quite a bit but I have settled with Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I'm on my second bottle and it is the nicest low to mid budget foundation that I've used. I've also used the likes of double wear, double wear light, Mac studio fix, Clinique and Clarins. I think it is my holy grail. I'm quite fair skinned so use the ivory one. It's the best colour match that I've found and I like the finish a lot.

Thanks Imscarlet. Starting with the Rimmel might be the cheapest option and then trying something else if they don't work.
I know someone who used the Double Wear, but she always looked a bit too 'artificial' in the morning if you know what I mean.

Yeah, the doublewear colours didn't suit me. I was ghostly in one, and oompaloompa in the next colour up. It is full coverage so can be quite mask like. They do give free samples at make up counters if you wanted to try it though.
