Clothes for a giant 7 year old.

I despair! DD is 7, nearly 8. I nearly struggle with getting her age appropriate clothes to fit. She is broad, skinny and long limbed. Some of the Next age 12 stuff I got her in the Jan sales, the rest needs to go back. She is wearing T shirts from Mountain Warehouse in age 11-12 but they are getting tight across the shoulders. She has some 11-12 tights from M&S but the next sauce up only seem to come in black. Her Didriksons coat is getting small - and again the next size up all seem to be black and too grown up looking.
Where else can I look for good quality basics ?

Polarn O. Pyret go up to 12. It's Scandinavian so it is long in the limb and the styles are young and colourful. It may be worth a try size wise. It is very good quality too and washes very well.

Have you tried Johnnie B. from Boden too, goes up to age 16 but a lot of the styles are quite young.

merlottime · 17/01/2016 17:08

Lands End are good and go up to 14 I think. Lots of bright colours.

Sallyhasleftthebuilding · 17/01/2016 17:09

M&s and next do opposite sizing so one is 9/10 11/12 the other 10/11 12/13 so you have to keep swapping

Pumpkin patch online

Orangeanddemons · 17/01/2016 17:20

I have a 9 year old in age 14 clothing.IME the only people who go beyond a 12 are H & M, m&s and Next. Lands end go to a 13 and I think Gap do.

Orangeanddemons · 17/01/2016 17:21

johnny B also good, but pricey. I know Boden now do a Tweens range from 9-12 as well.

Enb76 · 17/01/2016 17:26

I have a similar issue with my just turned 7 year old. A lot of clothing that fits is just too teenwear. Landsend is good and Gap. Mine is all legs so finding stuff long enough that isn't massive on the waist is an issue. We have to go basics rather than anything fashiony.

Boogers · 17/01/2016 17:34

DD is the same, tall and willowy. She's 6, almost 7 and had been in 9-10 clothes for over 6 months. Because she's so slim she has no bum to keep larger sized trousers up, but I've found jeggings from H&M suit her frame.

Toffeelatteplease · 17/01/2016 21:02

Primark ladies in anything between a 6 and a 10. The disney and character tshirts are awesome.

Next ladies size 6 Jeggings

BHS

Pretty coloured tights are really hard to get hold of

Orangeanddemons · 17/01/2016 21:09

I use Primark Ladies too.

Boogers · 17/01/2016 21:15

I'll try Primark and Next for DD but it's sad to think she's in grown up clothes already, albeit petite sizes. She's 7 in two weeks but according to the marks I've put on our doorframes she was the same height as DS when he was 10.

dreamerlemur · 18/01/2016 00:34

Do you have a Morrisons near you? I have a very tall girl too, age 7 and their clothes fit her and are still 'young'. Worth a try?

dreamerlemur · 18/01/2016 00:35

Oh she wears age 10.

Noideatobehad · 18/01/2016 08:29

new look too. the 915 range goes up to age 15-16. my dd1 wears a lot from there as she isnt quite tall enough for ladies clothes yet. is just over 5 foot. she wars 12-13 from new look and thats fine.

DonkeyOaty · 18/01/2016 08:31

Sainsbury as well

neolara · 18/01/2016 08:34

Boden

Kaffiene · 18/01/2016 13:53

Wow! Such a lot of good ideas. Have ordered some Boden dresses. Would have never thought of Primark small adults for T shirts. It that kind of thing we struggle with. She still wants to wear cartoon clothing and pastels rather than the older teen wear.
Still looking for tights though if anyone has any suggestions.

Tights here www.next.co.uk/shop/gender-oldergirls-productaffiliation-hosieryandsocks-0#1_0 Next go up to an age 16 on their older girls range. Although not a big fan of Next generally some of it is Ok for younger ones. I've just bought dd a top with a rabbit on it which she loves. Also a unicorn top. They only do up to age 16 online though

Orangeanddemons · 18/01/2016 17:16

I think La Redoute/Vertbaudet do good tights too
