Short women, please come and talk to me about boots

I am so fed up with trying to find boots to wear with a dress at work, so reasonably smart, but also with a 6cm heel and super comfortable.

I am 5.2", size 10, my heaviest part is my thighs.

Now, clearly I can't wear what it's described as 'knee high' because boots like that eat up my leg. Problem is, ankle boots look ridiculous on me. Why is that?? It's my thunder thighs, isn't it?? Or my shortness? Or both??

Anyway, has anyone seen calf boots with a 6cm heel (block, stack or wedge) that can be worn with dresses?

Office have a sale at the moment, have you looked there? Also Steve Madden at House of Fraser had some fitting your description a bit back. What colour? What kind of dresses?

I'm 5' and a 10. I've just ordered Fitflop Crush. They probably won't be smart or wedgey enough but should be comfy as I walk to and from work.

Um I'm 4'11, small with less than thin thighs (& calfs) and wear knee high boots without a problem as does my friend who is 4'9" (but has the skinniest legs)
Yes some look awful but many look fine, it's just a matter of finding the right boot. I find that calf height boots can look awful on me and emphasise my less than slender legs. I think this is also the problem with ankle boots although I do have a lovely pair I'm wearing at the moment (but only have an inch heel as I'm heavily pregnant)
Can't recommend a particular pair as mine boots (except the ankle boots) are all from last year.

Personally with that length dress so over the knee I'd do shoes and opaques or shoeboot/booties.

With midi dresses/skirts then I have some R&B boots that go slightly over the knee. I wouldn't wear these with shorter dresses though.

I find mid calf boots very unflattering personally.

I know what you mean MrsCampbellBlack but that dress sits on the knee for me, not over the knee.

I would like some shoe boots actually, I think I could pull them off, but it's hard to find them high enough (min 6cm heel) and comfortable enough.

They were so horrendously uncomfortable I had to return them. I paid full price for them and wouldn't buy them now for the absolute bargain price of £29!!! I was in pain just having them on, never mind walking.

I am a bit shorter than you and find exactly the same thing. As well as that, my feet are a size 3, and manufacturers seem to think that if you have small feet you also have small calf muscles! Which I definitely don't. So nearly all boots will simply not do up. I also have big thighs.

Shoe boots are fab. I bought three pairs, all the same style in different colours, In m and s in about October. I can't link tight now, but they were suede, about £35, and had fab reviews. I wear them with everything, but if I am wearing a dress, i wear the same colour tights as the boots, which creates a longer line, and seems to work better. I bought navy (dark denim colour), charcoal and black.
