The perfect black pencil skirt

Where do I look? I'd like a good fit, not too short, not thin fabric. Surely there must be loads but I'm not sure where to start.

Second maybemyrtle with J crew. If you're pear shaped it will be a great fit. Interestingly I wear a 2 as well but would say I'm a UK10 - waist 28" and hips/bum 39"ish.

Is it proper tight though. I hate those ones that flap at the bottom

I've just bought the quilted Hush one with zips which is really flattering and a lovely midi length and no muffin top. Highly recommend. Also got a more classic pencil skirt from And Other Stories a while ago which looks brand new still.

Are you sure about the size 2 in the J Crew skirt if you are normally a size 12? A size 12 is an 8 in American sizing, which means that you'd be ordering three sizes down. The equivalent of UK size 6.

Mitford, try a 6 for starters, returns are easy though so you could order a couple to try?

Jack, it has give but isn't stretchy so it's not skin tight. It doesn't do that flarey thing at the bottom though. You should try it!
