I just received this bag from Mint Velvet:

www.mintvelvet.co.uk/grey-darcey-leather-hobo/bags-small-leather-goods/mint-v/fcp-product/6310

I hate the phrase 'buttery leather' but it is the butteriest leather I've ever felt. And the hardware is antiqued so it's not all shiny and obtrusive.

Love it.

Anyone else want to share?! I'm feeling nosey...

Brit my leather Converse are just as flat / unsupportive as the canvas ones. You'd think I'd have learnt that after 3 pairs of canvas ones which I love the look of but can't wear for any length of time as I feel too "flat" ......

BritabroadinAsia · 16/01/2016 20:19

Thanks, Drquin - will know to avoid. Shame, though.

I just ordered these boots from Clarks. I saw them on an Instagram account I follow and they kept calling to me. They may be a bit bonkers, but Clarks do free delivery & returns - so nothing to lose!

*@TrashPanda@ - love, love, love that Uniqlo coat! Does it come up big? I imagine so, given that it's cocoon style.

My recent purchases are this Mango leather skirt: www.johnlewis.com/mango-leather-pencil-skirt-black/p2163205

These chunky boots: www.clarks.co.uk/p/26113469

This Top Shop pinafore dress: www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?Ntt=moto%2bpinafore&storeId=12556&productId=21733300&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057

This denim A-line skirt from New Look in the sale: www.newlook.com/shop/womens/skirts/navy-pocket-button-front-a-line-denim-skirt-_342307841?isRecent=true

mrslebon · 16/01/2016 22:28

I saw those boots too squiz81 but think they'd look better on other people than on me!

JaceLancs · 16/01/2016 22:50

Sculpt and lift jeggings in M & S sale
Cashmere cardigan
Black suede boots
Black snakeskin effect low heeled pumps
Multicoloured court shoes with small heel
Black leather across body bag

squiz81 · 16/01/2016 22:52

mrslebon I know what you mean, I follow dresslikeamum on Instagram and she looks great in them...I'm not entirely sure where I would wear them...right now my life seems to consist of wearing old brown knee highs that constantly get wet and muddy. Maybe with shiny new silver boots my life will be transformed...!

squiz81 · 16/01/2016 22:53

I actually also bought the metallic hamble oak brogues from Clarks. There's a good chance I will just look like that annoying robot from Justin's house.

RickOShay · 17/01/2016 08:31

Trashpanda, those gap trousers are lovely, what is the sizing like? I never get it right with gap annoyingly.
I have bought a grey poncho style jumper from pure which is so beautiful I haven't dared wear it yet, and a tan tote handbag from boden, nearly ditto. Very pleased with both though.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 17/01/2016 09:26

a massive lindy bop order which totalled 12 dresses, 2 skirts and a top. I had a gift voucher so don't feel so bad and I got a lot for my money, I am keeping everything i ordered as well

also got some baby pink converse
two leather McQueen razor wrap bracelets, one in pastel orange and one in green
couple of plain coloured grey and black long sleeve layering tees from primark
sterling silver amethyst ring and a sterling silver garnet ring
new basic knickers and a few black lace soft cup bralets. I can't wear normal bras now because of my disability so soft cup bralets are a good compromise between shape and support and comfort

LexLoofah · 17/01/2016 10:19

jace where did you get your cross body bag? I have cash burning a hole for a new bag but can't find 'the one'

TrashPanda · 17/01/2016 11:37

The Uniqlo coat does come up big. I've got XS and could easily fit a huge jumper under it. I'm a size 6/8.

The Gap trousers are lovely. I've got a UK6R which shows in the label as a 02R. I find Gap sizing baffling and for the shorts I literally guessed by picking the middle of what was available Grin

HolgerDanske · 17/01/2016 13:10

Very good tip for those who have trouble with flat shoes - look for a sports or running shop that offers FootBalance insoles. They are amazing. Expensive but completely worth it. I worked in sports retail for years and these insoles are the best. For £45 you get an insole that is moulded to your arch exactly so keeps your feet supported in a way that is personalised for you. We sold so many of them to athletes and runners. I also wore them for years and they almost completely alleviated my plantar fasciitis which had been extremely painful for years.

Sorry to hi-jack but I always mention it when I see people suffering with flat shoes. The difference in support and comfort is amazing. And if you can find a retailer that offers them, you can have them done on the spot. Takes about ten min.

HolgerDanske · 17/01/2016 13:11

Also people have found some amazing things! I'm trying not to look at the sales Sad

BritabroadinAsia · 17/01/2016 14:17

Thanks very much for the excellent tip HolgerDanske, and apologies for the original derail!

LexLoofah · 17/01/2016 15:30

I got a few items in the Dubarry sale:

jeans style skirt in navy £20 thinking it would be good for spring/summer but actually wore it the other day with thermal tights and was fine, nice fit and little kick out bit at the back, great if one is curvy. Also I am a 12 but the 10 fits just fine, contemplating ordering in white as well, if it were stone or similar I definitely would

tweed mini skirt in laurel £89, going to wear with cashmere sweater when I buy one and in the meantime with lovely white/cream chunky roll neck I got at Sainsburys

manamanah · 18/01/2016 21:38

This dress and cardigan from boden for £50 (insert smug face here). squiz81 those shoes are fab!

I should NOT have clicked this thread.

MaryMarigold - that bag is just beautiful. Bags are my weakness and that one made me emit a little gasp Wink

I really can't... I've just spent over £80 on make-up Blush (Clinique Chubby Stick, Dior bronzer and Clarins blusher) but my god, I really do want to...
