Has anyone regretted Botox?

Nearly 30, I have two young children and another on the way - I think the next child and potential sleepless nights are going to age me even more!! So might consider Botox in the next year or two. Around my eyes are the worst.

Just wondering has anyone ever regretted having this done? I know there's lots who are anti Botox but just interested to hear negative from those who have actually had it done. Thanks.

Wow Frostycake and thanks. I have very prominent cheekbones so again I worry that any filler in that area will look a bit odd on me. Great tips about injection locations! To be filed away for when I am flush and can no longer resist the lure of a non-knackered face (although I guess I could just try to go to bed earlier Hmm).
Anonymousnosides, I'm not sure whether there are any practitioners of Botox out there who specialise in ethnic skin. Aren't you better off going for the best that you can find/afford who will be good across the board? A different matter if it's laser treatment or hyperpigmentation that your're dealing with (and I can make recommendations in that area). That said, my friend went to Face Clinic London for Botox. One of the founders (who did not treat my friend) is of Indian/Chinese origin. Her testimonials look good: facecliniclondon.com/dr-anita-kapoor/.

PS: Thanks you Shadow1986 for raising this topic. So great to talk about things on here I would never discuss so openly face to face unless with a close (and non-judgey) friend.

Inspector you are better off with filler for downturned mouth- go somewhere good and it's worth it.

Yes please Upthenoonoo!

Love it and only regret not starting earlier! I have forehead, 11s and 'laughter' lines done by Susan Mayou at Cadogan Clinic in London. I pay £500. Have it done every 5-6 months and am 44. I no longer look exhausted and the deep lines I had on my forehead since my late teens have disappeared.

I've had it to lift brows and in a line I'm developing by my mouth along with fillers in nasio lab lines and a tiny bit in cheekbones which are quite prominent but it lifts the drooping in rest of face. I'm mid 40s. I have no forehead lines or no 11s currently but planning to have crows feet done as well next time. I go to a place in SW London. It costs a bit but it is sooo worth it.

Is the liquid gold by Alpha H? Don't want to buy the wrong thing!

MsBojangles · 20/01/2016 15:01

That's the one Waitrose!

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 20/01/2016 15:51

Thanks MsBojangles!

I had it twice with good results. Always a single location - forehead. Then a different practitioner at the same place boasted that he could inject it so that the eyes opened up i.e. that wide alert look. I said no thanks because Iiked my eyes and eyebrows as they are (my best feature). I was doing the same one location treatment. I said that I wanted to look rested and have few lines on my forehead.
He went ahead anyway and gave me an unnatural suprised look verging on Dr Spok. IMO he does it to everybody because his ego is bigger than his capacity to listen.
I kicked myself because my gut instict was that he was dodgy from the second he stepped in the room.
I hope that feedback helps you OP.

I was given one injection into my eyebrow for headaches on the NHS and it gave me a droopy eye. Eye looked ridiculous for 2 months! After seeing a new consultant she told me after one single injection into the main pain area she isn't surprised that my eye lid was droopy! Be careful who you see!

Never regretted it for one minute! I'm gagging for a top up but need to wait until my microblading is healed!! X

Any recommendations of Drs for Botox/Fillers in Dorset or Hampshire pls?

youvegottobekidding · 28/04/2017 14:01

I had Botox a couple of years ago, however I didn't have it for cosmetic reasons, I had it for medical reasons. I had around 31 injections in my scalp, forehead, temples & neck.

I hated it. It felt like a brick was embedded in my forehead. My eyebrows dropped, causing my eyelids to droop/lower, put it this way, I couldn't apply eyeliner across my top lids & I could hardly apply mascara without getting it all smudged onto my upper lids.

While I appreciate the injection sites may differ between medicinal & cosmetic procedures, I actually had two rounds of it, as I was persuaded to give it another go, I told the nurse of my concern with my eyebrows drooping etc & although she couldn't stray away from the NICE guidelines for medicinal Botox injection sites, she could slightly move the injection sites around the eyebrow area a little somewhat. It made no difference. I still resembled Simon Cowell in a bad day.

I swear now this is the reason I have one arched eyebrow & one straight eyebrow! Anyway, there was no way I was going for a 3rd round! Ok so my forehead may of appeared smoother, but it made no difference to my reason for having it anyway, so I certainly won't be going for it for cosmetic reasons, but if it suits others & they're happy then that's good.
