Has anyone regretted Botox?

Shadow1986 · 13/01/2016 20:04

Nearly 30, I have two young children and another on the way - I think the next child and potential sleepless nights are going to age me even more!! So might consider Botox in the next year or two. Around my eyes are the worst.

Just wondering has anyone ever regretted having this done? I know there's lots who are anti Botox but just interested to hear negative from those who have actually had it done. Thanks.

I am now 57 and started just before my 50th birthday.
Typically I have it done once or twice a year. Can still move everything, but look as if I have slept really well. It lasts for ages on me, good genes.
I would never have considered it under 50, but that may be due to the genes.

Newbrummie · 16/01/2016 20:39

Love love love it, wish I could afford it more often

PollyPerky · 16/01/2016 21:49

can't get my head round anyone of 29 thinking they need Botox.
Seriously.
If you clean up your diet and eat healthily it will probably work as well and you will feel better.
If you start now you'll be doing it for the next 40 years or more.
Sorry- not against it in principle at all but I suspect you aren't needing it.

Shadow1986 · 16/01/2016 22:33

Polly perky - I do eat healthily (mainly) and gym 3 times a week, well currently 2 as I'm pregnant. Have monthly facials. Never smoked.
Think it's just in the genes and also I was a sun worshipper in my late teens, early twenties - stupidly!! Therefore damage done...
Everyone ages differently. I feel like I only need a little bit around my eyes as when I smile I see lots of crow feet and it's all I see.

how does Botox work on outsides of mouth (to prevent that downturned look)? I thought filler was the only thing for that?

Lndnmummy · 16/01/2016 23:00

Regretted botox? Hell no

Lndnmummy · 16/01/2016 23:03

See, for me botox has changed the character of my face. Since my early 20s i have had bery deep frown lines and always looked angry and troubled. It is genetic, I am healthy. Post botox the only prominent lines i have are my laughter lines, hence i look like a happy person rather than an angry one. I dont look younger, i still look my age. Just a happy 37 rather than an angry one.

Shadow1986 · 16/01/2016 23:05

Ooh very interesting Lndnmummy!!
You've all persuaded me I just need to have my baby first as not sure having Botox while pregnant is advisable!

Go for it! And yes, cant have botox when pregnant x

SquareRootOf314 · 16/01/2016 23:09

I feel like it made my inner top eyelids droop a bit.

Ive had it 4 times. I was 'due"a top up a few months ago and im seeing if u can live with the frown that will come back. It is not too bad now. Maybe i will decife i hate it mote than the drooping top inner eyelids.

BuggersMuddle · 17/01/2016 00:08

I haven't, but am very tempted as I have a very 'celtic' complexion that doesn't age well. I'd love to have my 11's done. I actually nearly started my own thread, so if any readers of this one are in Scotland and can give a recommendation Grin

PeppasNanna · 17/01/2016 00:27

How do you decide where to go to get it done? Any recommendations?
TIA.

FeedMeWell · 17/01/2016 01:01

I get it done once or twice a year. I get my 11s done and it stops me looking angry without being frozen. I'm in Glasgow - I go here www.casheldaisley.com/wrinkles.html and would definitely recommend him.

venividivicky · 17/01/2016 05:46

Yes, Dr Mahmood who comes to Ware every month, just off the A10, brilliant, very experienced. Call Karis on 07720 846391 or 01920 464792 to arrange.

venividivicky · 17/01/2016 05:53

PS His clinic is in London E18 (Anti Ageing Clinic)

iPaid · 17/01/2016 06:23

I can understand why people get foreheads botoxed but I've read of too many bad experiences from people who had it done around the eyes. However, I'm intrigued about it being used around the corner of the mouth. Like a pp I thought you needed filler there which creeps me out. Any one care to enlighten me .... please!

DoubleDeClutchMuch · 17/01/2016 15:47

iPaid don't be creeped out by filler, I've had it on corners of mouth and it was great. (just make sure it's done by someone recommended).

But that was why I was wondering how Botox can work on that area - mainly because Botox is cheaper than filler!(although doesn't last as long).

SnowBodyforrrrm · 17/01/2016 16:54

polly the brain tumour that I had (diagnosed and treated at 28, though had it for 7-10 years) ensure I eat a pretty good diet for fear of it coming back, and I don't smoke or drink often. I've had a particularly stressful 4years (4 kids under 4, including three of them in the space of 16months) which has undoubtedly taken it's toll on me physically.

We don't all age the same, I can't see why you assume not all 29 year olds need it!? What about saggy breasts, most 29 years olds won't have them, but i do, and don't get me started on the grey hair. If it makes us feel better, what's the problem!?

I would post a pic of my lines to see if you think they're worthy of consideration for Botox, but it's not really any of your business.

As for needing it for the next 40 years (of course assuming I'll still be here) I'll have had a full facelift by then Wink

annandale · 17/01/2016 17:00

I have a friend who looked amazing with it, she stopped doing it eventually - or at least for a while she did - but she started in her early 30s. She has a very, very fair skin with freckles, the fairest I've ever seen, which did crease quite early, I still thought she looked great but could see why she'd done it. Also she was very flush at that time and had all her financial ducks in a row, so why not really.

FuckyNell · 17/01/2016 17:04

Im having it till I'm 50 and then I'm going yo have a one hour facelift. Strings are put in and your face is hoiked up. Sounds great 😃

absolutelynotfabulous · 17/01/2016 17:32

fucky I'm saving for a one-stitch! Although it looks a bit too good to be true, perhaps...

FuckyNell · 18/01/2016 11:12

In six years I will come back and tell you!

sonata1 · 18/01/2016 21:18

Any recommendations for the Liverpool area ? No beauticians though.Looking for a qualified Dr.

morningmistermagpie · 18/01/2016 21:49

Can it get rid of number 11s? Mine are awful and make me look quite grumpy.

Also, is anybody willing to say how much it costs?

LoopyDroopy · 19/01/2016 08:42

I've had it in my armpits for extreme sweating. It's amazing and I wouldn't do without it now.
