isn't the monstrosity in the OP from the 'confident, contemporary collection?'

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2016 12:01

Thanks var123 My heart sank when I read that PR speak which means fuck all nothing.

"Luxurious fabrics"!!! REALLY!!!!!??????

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2016 12:19

am going to WRITE to them Grin giving the points that have been made here and see what reply I get.

I just remembered that dd2 was doing a bit of work for them online in fashion so I'll get the correct department and or person to write to.

Viviennemary · 28/01/2016 12:21

Luxurious fabrics?? Is that M & S speak for the thin tatty shiney stuff they're using. If they're not careful they'll go the same way as Woolworths.

millymae · 28/01/2016 13:03

OH thinks the M & S complaints/comments department has my name red flagged because I'm always banging off emails to them about poor quality items, poor service etc, but in their defence I really love the Per Una Roma slim fit and straight leg jeans.

I live in denim and over the years have bought all makes, some costing huge amounts of money and others really cheap, but for me in terms of sizing, fit and length these are perfect. I'm careful never to wear anything tucked into the waist though because of the awful typically Per Una jewelled pockets and the cheap plastic belts which hit the bin as soon I get them home. If they got rid of these adornments they could knock a couple of pounds off the price and I'd be even happier with them. M&S if you're reading this take note.

var123 · 28/01/2016 13:15

That's the problem, millymae, they do not listen. They don't listen to anyone:-

  • not us, their customers
  • not the info from the complaints dept
  • not the feedback from the store managers
  • not the shareholders
  • not even their accountants when profits have fallen again

The only people they listen to are fashion insiders and even then its only when they are telling M&S's buyers what a great job they've done this season.

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2016 13:36

I agree millymae about the Per Una jeans I LIVE in their understated bootlegs, (old glimmer emojji!!) they fit beautifully and wash well. Oh and they don't have any extra frippery on them Grin.

See they CAN do it if they try.

Behooven · 28/01/2016 16:43

I'm going to take a look at Per Una jeans ppeat

One suggestion of a ruffle though and you're getting it!!!

Claraoswald36 · 28/01/2016 20:17

Still giggling at jkie from Falkirk!

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2016 21:32

Oh blimey Behooven When I looked before Xmas in the Tottenham Ct. Rd end of Oxford St. I didn't find any my size. Unsurprisingly. Blush

ppeatfruit · 28/01/2016 21:36

What I DID find which shocked me was that their size 8s are PROPER size 8s, as I said upthread there seems to be a bit of mess with their vanity sizing now! Luckily my new dil is tiny so I gave her the top I bought , I CBA to try stuff on.

LovelyFriend · 28/01/2016 21:49

I'm another Roma straight leg jeans fan. Been wearing them for years.

Behooven · 28/01/2016 21:56

Dear M & S...

Stop putting fucking sparkles on jeans. We're not five.

Thanks
Paperblank.

NotNowBono · 29/01/2016 10:20

and stop trying to make jumpsuits happen. No one over the age of 25 has time to strip off for a wee, and I don't want to be confronted by my wobbly stomach during the day unless it's absolutely necessary.

SlatternIsTrying · 29/01/2016 18:29

I have a professional type job that involves me having to wear smart clothes. Since I graduated (20!) years ago my work wardrobe came out of Marks and as I was there anyway so did a large portion of my casual wear.

Over the last 2 years I have noticed a sharp decline in standards. I had a top that laddered at the shoulder on its 3rd wear. A cardigan that split at the seam after it's first wash. At least 3 tops that have developed holes in their first year. 2 pairs of trousers that aren't fit to be worn after 6 months. I could go on and on.......

Yet I still have some of the clothes that I bought 7 years ago that miraculously still fit and they are fine, not a thing wrong them despite multiple washing. I'm sure I have knickers that are 20yrs old that are still going.

Dear Marks - Please please please improve the quality. I truly don't mind paying a bit extra if I'm sure it will last beyond a handful of washes.
Regards Slattern

We're wasting our time on MN slagging off M&S. I gave up on them months ago, after beeing a faithful customer for longer than I care to remember.

Behooven · 29/01/2016 23:22

Grin oh dear, it's em.....lovely

"Polka dots are a print that will never date"....

Who is writing this guff??!

RomComPhooey · 30/01/2016 06:37

That pyjama dress looks like fashion designer/buyer equivalent of newsreaders being 'dared' by colleagues to shoehorn a word like "serendipity" into the evening broadcast. I can just imagine the conversation: "ok Ignatio, I dare you to get a crazy pyjama dress into the SS16 collection, and make sure its a grim colour and pattern that no-one will want to buy. If you can get it signed off by [director of fashion] I'll buy you dinner!"

LovelyFriend · 30/01/2016 08:25

Sounds like M&S are responding to the headteacher ban on parents wearing pjs to school, by making clothes that look like pjs.

Yet another "know your market" miscalculation M&S!
