Where are all the non-patterned stylish thigh length raincoats?

There is the black rainy day mac at boden but black is a bit harsh for me and size already sold out. Joules only have patterned and I'm just not sure about Seasalt (I don't think they're good for petites? and half of the mums on the school run wear them).

What else is out there?

Doesn't even have to be totally waterproof. Showerproof would be fine!

Have a look at Rains - they're a Danish company. I have the Curve jacket in dark green and so far it's held up well!

FrustratedFrugal · 08/01/2016 09:55

Was going to suggest Rains but Elizarome got it first.

teacher1984 · 09/01/2016 20:30

What's the sizing like? And can you try them anywhere in the UK?

Just concerned they look a little oversized but I need a neat fit.

Any other ideas anyone?

Ilse Jacobsen? Another Danish company. Sell waterproof rain gear in all colours and are neat fitting. I have mine a few years and would really recommend it.

Rainmac?

Toffeelatteplease · 10/01/2016 08:11

Watching with interest

I'm 4ft 10 and have a Seasalt rain jacket (actually two as I just bought another in the sale!). I really like them.

teacher1984 · 10/01/2016 08:17

Which style Seasalt do you have? Willing to try if it's not oversized!

M&S has pink trench coat - if you like pink!

Badumchhhhh · 10/01/2016 08:27

I am 5'3 and have a seasalt northstar (£78 in sale) . I liked this style as it nips in at the back so it looks neat and doesn't drown me - has a waist

weebarra · 10/01/2016 08:52

North Star here too!

Elizarome · 10/01/2016 12:40

Re. sizing at Rains - it seems to be fairly true to size and some of the designs come with belts, so they can be cinched in at the waist. I like a fitted coat too, and can confirm that at least the one I have does have some form to it. I'm a 10, and the small fits. The main website does offer delivery to the U.K. and it's also stocked at places like Zalando, which will give you free returns.

teacher1984 · 10/01/2016 12:44

Great, I was looking at the Northstar and thinking it looked a strong possibility!

I'm waiting for this to be massively discounted.

teacher1984 · 10/01/2016 21:11

Do you think it will be massively discounted? Do they clear stock in spring?

I'm 5'2" and have the Seasalt Northstar. Sleeves are the perfect length (I have to turn up everything) and it comes to my knees. Very light but warm and the adjustable poppers at the back means you can make it more fitted if you prefer.

BabyGanoush · 10/01/2016 21:30

Seasalt makes me look like an overgrown child, and it is shapeless. It looks wrong somehow. It swamps me and I am 6ft!

I have a good mac from H&M (not proper waterproof at all though) and a half price sale Aigle which was still £££ but is proper waterproof and has lasted 5 years already.
