Do you exfoliate often enough?

margaritasbythesea · 07/01/2016 17:47

Me too. Using less improved things as did using a brush but I have now given up. I just use concealer and a bit of powder.

goddessofsmallthings · 07/01/2016 17:48

Do you use a primer before applying your foundation?

firefly78 · 07/01/2016 17:52

no dont use a primer. whats that?

This happens to me if I don't use a primer. I really like the Bare Minerals one, although the Benefit one is very good too.

Which skin type do you have and which foundations have you used?

I suspect you are using a foundation that doesn't suit your skin type. It might also be that your moisturiser and other skincare products are causing the issue.

You might find that using less foundation will make it look a bit better. Sometimes if I use too much, it just doesn't look nice at all.

JaceLancs · 07/01/2016 19:51

I use a Clinique pore minimiser under my foundation just on my nose and between eyebrows as this is where I have this problem

CreviceImp · 07/01/2016 19:58

I have massive pores on my hooter and Maybelline Matte mousse foundation covers the feckers without the need for primer. It doesn't separate on the skin either and is light as a feather so it doesn't feel claggy.

I am outdoors with my dogs everyday but still like my face to be made up.

I am currently washing my face in the morning. Applying Panoxyl spot treatment to nose and chin. Ten minutes later I apply the body shop hemp face protector all over my face and neck. Approx ten minutes later I apply collection 2000 lasting foundation with a brush, concealer if I need it then using a brush apply collection 2000 lasting powder in a compact.

My skin has never looked so flawless and I've spent thousands of pounds over the years on all of the very expensive foundations etc Armani, Chanel,,Dior etc

I walk in wind, rain, on the beach, up mountains, through woods etc for hours on end and my face remains perfect!

I am thinking of writing to the company as my skin has never looked so good!

MotherofFlagons · 07/01/2016 20:17

Leave your moisturiser to soak in for 10 mins before applying foundation and don't use too much foundation. It's tempting to slather it on, especially in winter.

Oakmaiden · 07/01/2016 20:24

My face is looking a lot better now that I am using a flannel to have a good rub over my nose/forehead/cheeks when I wash my face. I still have to moisturise twice though before it feels comfortable.

Musicianofbremen · 07/01/2016 20:40

tate 15 I am evangelical about collection 2000 foundation too. I've tried so many expensive ones that my skin has reacted to I have up for years. Bought the Collection one to wear to a funeral where I'd be seeing people I hadn't seen for years thinking I would throw it away after one go and have never looked back. It's incredible.

firefly78 · 07/01/2016 20:41

wow thank you. feeling slightly overwhelmed with advice!!!

firefly78 · 07/01/2016 20:41

where can i get collection 2000 from?

OP posts:
Musicianofbremen · 07/01/2016 20:45

Superdrug, Boots, Wilko. I think the brand is just called "Collection" now. It's super cheap. I use the "lasting finish" one in the glass bottle.

Face atelier foundation used after moisturising and a real techniques brush know as a buffing brush. After applying moisturiser I dot this foundation on areas i need it the most. Under the eyes, chin and a bit on forehead. with circular motion use the brush to blend it where you want it. A little goes a long way and makes your skin look fantastic. Its expensive foundation but its really great. I havent had any issues. You can buy testers from this website It is face atelier ultra foundation:

Greengardenpixie · 07/01/2016 21:06

The buffing brush is great even with a cream foundation.

ZacharyQuack · 07/01/2016 23:19

I've found that some primers and foundations just don't work well together. I'm not sure why not, but suspect it has something to do with silicone vs oil or water based foundations. The worst culprit I've found is the Max Factor primer, it seems to cause some foundations to cling on to it and not blend properly, and gives you nostril-pores the size of craters. I haven't worked out how to avoid it happening other than trial and error, unfortunately.

Greengardenpixie · 07/01/2016 23:36

I use just a simple olay moisturiser. Think its complete radiance illuminator and i use the normal to oily one. Its lovely too and works well with my foundation.
I think its perfectly possible that some foundation doesn't work well. I find that moisturiser seems to work well with the type i have linked to as it helps it to blend.

firefly78 · 08/01/2016 13:00

ok ive bought primer, hemp face protector and collection 2000 foundation so will see how i get on!

spaceyboo · 08/01/2016 13:03

Primers or sunscreen helps. I use sunscreen as its cheaper and a bit less likely to give breakouts.
