Loafers or brogues?

I've only really got boots for the winter, I'd like some smart-ish shoes to wear with skinnies or other trousers.

Not sure whether to got for a loafer or brogue. Any suggestions please? Not sure about colour either but they must go with black so I'm guessing navy is out?

Brogues, definitely. I love these - I have several pairs which I've bought over the years and today I bought the black and white ones and some purple ones (can't see them online but they're in Clark's branches) in the sale. Really chuffed with my bargains! They're the comfiest shoes I've ever worn and they last really well. I think the pewter ones would look lovely with black.

Thanks, think I'd like them a bit chunkier and/or a thicker sole
