Luxury leather goods brands?

I'm after a really nice leather purse in the sales and am prepared to spend quite a bit.

Which brands should I look at? I'm considering Mulberry but would like to shop around.

I have a lovely Aspinal of London purse in coral. It's beautiful. I stroke it - and I didn't pay the 'prestige brand' markup that Mulberry has whacked on since becoming more popular...

When did you buy it LB? Could you post a link?

Agree Aspinal, my purse is also from there and they monogrammed it for free!

Smythson or look at Coach, they have lovely handbags so I presume wallets/purses too

Yes to Aspinal of London, fabulous place. I've had a phone cover, diaries and a bag from them and the quality is excellent

They have a website, and a couple of shops in London, Harrods also sell their goods. Sorry, I go into town to get mine, so I'm not sure about things further out.

They also have an eBay account and sell some of their seconds on there. If you wanted to expand a collection for not too much money ;)

Thanks, have checked out Aspinals and unfortunately they don't seem to do the size purse I am looking for. I want medium sized but with plenty of card pockets and a zipped coin section.

I was in the store yesterday and they had a good selection of purses in the sale in lots of colours.

I have a large everyday smythson purse and a smaller anya hindmarch one for going out.

I wonder if this might be worth a trip to Bicester....?

Reporting back, been looking at Smythson. They had a continental style in purple crocodile leather but it's sold out unfortunately. What do you think of this colour?

It's a gorgeous colour but too light for a purse? I wanted something different from black or brown.

I love it, I have the fashion note book and diary both in that colour and it wears well even though they are thrown in the bottom of my bag with stray raisins, cars and other such nasty things from the dc's

What about Anya Hindmarch? Not enough card spaces in this?

I have a Tory birch purse. Had it two years and still looks brand new.
The outnet is a good place to look for bargains.

Tanner Krolle and Loewe are my favourites. I have a couple that I have had for a while and they look fantastic.
