Gel nail kits

Has anyone got a home gel nail kit? I chip normal polish within hours of painting so love gel manicures but haven't got the time or money for fortnightly salon visits and considering investing in one. A bit of research suggests the Sensationail starter kit is good for the price but I'd really like to hear real life experiences about this kit and whether the result is as good as a salon manicure.

Before I bought a CND kit I had one it was good not as good as salon finish it wasn't as thick, it lasts about a week and they have a lot of colours to choose from now

I do my own gel nails - I didn't buy a specific kit but rather a mix of stuff from Amazon. I use the CND shellac base and top coat, a total mix of colours (I find the Bluesky colours good for the price, not too impressed with the RedCarpet brand though), you need alcohol, lint free wipes, and either an LED or UV lamp.

Ah so you'd go for the CND kit over Sensationail?

I prefer the CND lamp and also use CND too and base coats this lasts just like a salon manicure the kit cost me £210 from eBay but I've had it a year so saved that much at least

I have the SensatioNail kit (got in half price) and I love it. Is very easy to do, take me about an hour while watching TV, lots of lovely colours and lasts pretty well. I probably average 10 days wear but that's about as long as I go before I want a change.

I have a sensationail lamp, but use blue sky base, polish and topcoat. The sensationail polish doesn't last any longer than normal non gel ime.
I just buy whichever wipes, primer, alcohol etc Amazon has for a decent price at the time.
