Skin care - Sticking to what you know?

I love reading the threads on here and beauty blogs and have invested lots of money on suggested/ must have products. They problem is they make my skin look terrible!! My skin breaks out or I get big dull lumps and uneven skin tone. Yet when I stick to body shop camomile cleansing butter to remove make up then either day or night aloe moisturiser my skin is perfect. Should I just stick to what I know or preserve for long term benefits?? tia

I'm a huge fan of the camomile balm as a first cleanse and will definitely be purchasing again. If it suits your skin, stick to what works.

Yeah agree. Stick to what you know. I've been using clarins for years but switched recently to no7 mostly for cost. It's ruined my skin. Back to clarins for me.

Stick to what you know. I used baby lotion to cleanse my face for years and had great skin. Then I started getting a couple of spots (probably due to work stress and too much coffee). After reading a couple of blogs/websites which are thought of very highly on here and being told that mineral oil was the devil, I tried several different things and succeeded in aggravating my skin quite a lot and making it the worst it's ever been. A couple of months after ditching foundation and going back to cleansing with baby lotion, I don't get spots any more.

I'm on to my 3rd camomile cleansing butter and I love how clean & soft it leaves my skin feeling. The aloe moisturisers soak in so well without clogging. Think I'll stick just with them while they're working :-) Thank you all

Where is the camomile butter from? Is it bodyshop? I have used the oil from there but butter sounds nice

Yes from the Body Shop. I absolutely love it, highly recommend it. They often have 40% off so only about a tenner and lasts ages. I either use a flannel to remove it or have recently discovered scrubbies.

If your skins good and you're happy with it then of course keep using the same stuff.

However; there are some fantastic ingredients out there that will make a huge difference to your skin, when used correctly, that just weren't around years ago.
