Curling wand safety

I've somehow lost the heat protection glove for use with my curling wand- any ideas what I can safely use till I find out where to get a replacement?

I've never used my glove if you're careful I don't think you need it. I've never seen a hairdresser use one now I come to think of it. Could you use a marigold? Or would it melt?!

Was thinking marigolds may melt too! Had thought about thorn proof gardening glove? Am just rather clumsy so thought better safe than sorry!

Would the garden glove not be a bit thick? What about a pair of leather gloves of you have any? Might be a bit expensive though if you burn them!

Oven or BBQ glove?

Have ebayed for one, thanks! although unlikely to be curling hair now as my preg vomiting has returned and spending my time generally whimpering in bed. Trying to think positively that I will be able to get back out in public again!
