My skin is dry and dehydrated, but spotty and easily reacts to products

I use a homemade version of lush 'angel on bare skin'

Body shop vitamin e serum in oil.

Body shop vitamin e intensive moisturiser.

My skin is a bit dehydrated and I have an oily T-zone. I use the following:

Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm - really impressed with this and prefer it to Emma Hardie. I use it to 'lift off' make up and then remove with a warm wet flannel. This method of cleansing has greatly reduced any redness in my skin (I previously used Simple wipes) and my skin is much clearer.

Every couple of days, I use REN clarifying toner on a cotton wool pad.

Superdrug serum - Simply Pure one in the day and Clearly Youthful one at night. Both excellent.

Eucerin Hyaluron Filler eye cream and moisturiser (I have a day one and a night one) - these are both very good. OK, they don't have the lovely scent of say something by Clarins but they work really well to hydrate my skin.

Primer (applied before foundation) - Elemis Pro Radiance Flash Balm. Odd scent but helps to tighten and brighten before I whack foundation on.

My skin is very easily dehydrated, otherwise normal but prone to oil on the t-zone. I have a huge (and I mean HUGE) number of products and mix it up all the time but last night I did:

Cleanse with Una Brennan Vitamin C oil
Cleanse with Bravura clay cleanser
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin mask
Nip+Fab Extreme pads
Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle Turbo lotion
Kypris Antioxidant Dew
Kypris Elixir III oil

MyFriendsCallMeOh · 24/12/2015 12:47

Cleanse with Neal's yard wild rose balm in the evening, slather on their frankincense intense eye cram, serum and moisturizer. In the morning, I wash with plain water and use the same frankincense products.

Once a week I use an enzyme face scrub and a glam glow or white clay mask.

My skin seems to really enjoy this routine and is behaving impeccably. I've come to the conclusion that, like food, if I keep the chemicals and additives to a minimum, I'm better off.

I am a Body Shop Vitamin E addict so:-

Mornings
Vit E gentle face wash used with Clarisonic
Hydrating toner
Vit E serum & eye cream
Illuminating moisturiser

Nights
Camomile cleansing balm
Vit E cream cleanser
Use a clean white face cloth every night (v cheap from Primark)
Hydrating toner again
Oil in serum
Vit E night cream

Twice a week I use the Vit E face scrub in the morning

I wash my face in the bath at night with some exfoliating face wash and a flannel, then put some Aldi night cream or Aveena on. Mornings I just swipe with wet flannel and put some Piz Buin on as a moisturiser. I am regularly told I don't look old enough to have my children, I'm 45 and my oldest is 17.

hollieberrie · 24/12/2015 13:48

My skin is oily but clear. I try to follow the Caroline Hirons routine (don't always manage ).

AM:
Hot cloth cleanse with Lush Ultrabland cleanser
Acid tone with clearasil pad
Little bit of serum
Make up

PM:
Remove make up with micellar water
Cleanse with lush again
Acid tone again
Serum (Paulas choice )
Moisturise - either clarins facial oil or some simple moisturiser that I'm trying turn use up.

Twice a week I acid tone with Liquid Gold.

suze28 · 24/12/2015 14:22

Evening
1st cleanse with Body Shop Camomile balm
2nd cleanse with Pixi cleansing balm, Eve Lom or Elemis balm
3 times a week Pixi Glow Tonic
Hyaluronic gel
Serum from Rodial or Nip + Fab
Moisturiser currently is one from M&S

Morning
Cleanse with Clinique mild liquid facial soap
Then serum plus moisturise as above

The space nk lady recommended a facial oil too as I'm getting a bit older but I didn't like the smell of the Body Shop Oils of Life. I might have to look for an alternative.

hellsbellsmelons · 24/12/2015 14:54

Shower in the morning.
Run my face under the running water and rub a bit.
Towel dry.
I do use moisturiser maybe once a month after a weekend of drinking.
But lucky for me, I have naturally good skin.
And I believe this because I haven't used a load of potions on it so it has had to look after itself.
It may just be in my genes though.

Pleasemrstweedie · 24/12/2015 16:01

Dove hypoallergenic cleansing bar, Simple toner and Olay moisturising cream. That's it. That's all I use.

I'm now 60, but when I said I was coming up to a milestone birthday a lot of people thought I meant 50.

goodnessgraciousgoudaoriginal · 24/12/2015 18:03

My skin is a crazy mix of dry and greasy. I was on an awful lot of acne medication in my youth.

I've tried all sorts of routines over the years, but the only thing that works for me is:

Using harsh as hell products for teenage skin (clearasil, etc)
Using a gentle non comedemic moisturiser
Using benzoyl peroxide 2.5% every other night before bed.

I'm in my 30's!!!

SparklyTinselTits · 24/12/2015 18:05

Coconut oil, coconut oil....and coconut oil!
For everything. Taking make-up off, as a cleanser, as a moisturiser, as a hair conditioner, to shave my legs...the whole shabang. My skin has never looked healthier Smile

Cheesymonster · 24/12/2015 21:27

Take makeup off with Garnier micellar water
Superdrug hot cloth cleanser
Clearasil pad to acid tone
Moisturiser- Aldi q10 night cream and Garnier light moisturiser for combination skin in the mornings

Camembertie · 25/12/2015 05:46

Serum as above (am Aldi, pm Olay Night Resurfacing)
Clinique dramatically different moisturiser
Am Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 then make up
Pm either nothing else or LRP Redermic R or Cicaplast (used last night and skin AMAZING this morning)

Twice a week ish use Dermalogica Daily microfoliant in shower then their intensive masque whilst getting dry and ready

Skin (v dehydrated sensitive flaky but prone to congestion) looking best it ever has and just turned 40

Indecisivejo · 25/12/2015 15:27
