Alternative to a shrug

This time of year I notice that I face a dilemma on the rare occasions I go out to restaurants etc - I get cold but a lot of dresses/tops that I like and that suit me are short sleeved or not sleeved at all. I get cold easily but hate sitting somewhere in my coat.

I used to rely on shrugs but I've decided now that I really don't like them. It was great when they were fashionable!

So what's the fashionable alternative? I hate pashminas unless I'm at a wedding. Any suggestions please? Smile

Friend of mine, who is a very neat person, wears very fine knit short (not crop short) cardigans with one or all buttons done up. Looks good on her.

I suppose it depends on what shes wearing though? I cant imagine cardigans with dresses for going out in, think of them more as an office staple...

How about a net or sheer lace kimono style jacket (without fringe)

That might work. Off to google!

Cardigans are fantastic. Especially if they are fluffy or shimmery
