What is it about your style that makes it 'you'?

I still experiment a lot with different shapes and styles of clothes but there are certain colours I always come back to. These are basically black, grey, taupe, cream, mixed up with deep reds and muted pinks in winter, and coral or light green in summer.

I suppose the shapes I wear most are straight (not skinny) trousers and jeans with fitted scoop-neck t-shirts (usually black) or very loose jumpers, and straight just above knee length shirts with the same tops. I rarely wear very high heels, but like medium heels better than flats unless it's with sports or hiking gear.

I wear a lot of bangles, most of which were collected from charity shops, mixed up in different combinations to suit my mood and outfit. Most of my other jewellery is silver and a bit "different".

I'd like to be much more "out there" in my style but it rarely works for me.

Same as Same Grin I'm on the short side in my family! My cousins son is 6ft7 and he's 14!! He really does hate it, the poor lad

Skinny jeans and simple tops when with my son. I never really wore jeans before skinnies came out and I never wear blue denim. I love different coloured jeans.

I wear a lot of skirts, tights and shoe boots or dresses and boots.

Scandinavian Toddler is my favourite aesthetic. Nordic knits, leggings, long socks, fur-lined boots, smocks, hats with earflaps, mittens.

Anyone able to post a pic or similar from Pinterest? Need to jazz up my look in the new year and really looking for ideas!

Dresses and heels.

Flit between dress styles, funky or quite sophisticated.

Love a good pearl but also very partial to a thigh length boot!! Irritated by the current trend for over the knee boots as the are MY THING and now I look like a fashion sheep Angry

MardyKnickers · 27/12/2015 15:28

Lots of lipstick (lucky to suit most colours but not pale colours) so bright red, plum, gold, brown, hot pink as the mood takes me.

Always an expensive bag in a stand out colour or style, I get a LOT of comments on my bags!! Never do black/tan/dull bag.

Am rather well known for my handbag/lipstick obsession love

Tweedy country lady and Acne hipster had a fight in an unlit cupboard.

Borrowed each others clothes to go to court to settle it.

Shortish dress [ tunic style ] tights and clunky boots and a cardigan!
Shortish dress/tunic, skinny jeans, boots and cardigan!

Oh hair up, and nice ethnic or alternative earrings. I wear Miss dior originale as my perfume er constantly.

MuttonCadet · 27/12/2015 16:10

Fairly classic, always cool shades. I have recently embraced gloves and hats and have finally been complimented on my "look".

I do finally feel comfortable in my own skin, which I think is the key.

Oh how I wish my husband thought I looked like a high end Parisian hooker - the stuff of dreams - instead he likened me to a VW Beetle. wtf.

I change depending on my mood.

A family friend recently saw me at a work event and said I looked "all dolled up" I had on a knee length long sleeved dressed and my much loved knee high black boots plus bold coloured knee length coat. I like to power dress for work and always wear heels.

For a night out, I like to glam it up with full on make up and have to wear a dress or skirt always with thick black tights now I'm no longer a spring chicken

When I'm "mum" it's skinnies, ankle or flat knee highs and jumpers with my waterproof duffle coat.

I really do think that being a mum, I have lost a part of me, but what I previously wore is no longer practical.

I also like to wear hats, found them a lot easier than umbrellas.

Oh and nice underwear, I couldn't wait to splurge on some nice sets after maternity and nursing bras!

This is a great thread.
I have statement glasses and wear hats. I'm picking up some great ideas here.

NattyGolfJerkin · 28/12/2015 15:46

I'm another gamine sort. Fitted, tailored classics suit me.

CiaoMane · 28/12/2015 23:19

I'd hesitate to use 'signature style' in relation to myself without laughing Grin...but I have two styles, quite different from each other.

At work - fitted knee length pencil dresses, mid heels, statement jewellery. Glam side of business professional, I'd say. Maybe very slightly mutton (I'm a tall hourglass, I wear my long hair loose and wear bright lipstick...and like a bit of 'wiggle' in my dresses). Black, charcoal, various shades of red my 'signature' colours.

Off duty - slim jeans, ankle boots, slouchy thin knits - lots of navy, white, grey, bit of electric blue. Hair up in loose bun or pleat. Possibly a bit of a yummy-mummy type on the surface of it. I wore my Joules wellies and a Boden breton yesterday and chuckled at myself Grin.

Always got my big Fendi shades on, so possibly my signature style is 'poncy sunglasses-in-the-winte-wearing twat', but I have sensitive eyes

Flingingmelon · 28/12/2015 23:23

Bit of normcore, bit of vintage, bit of Scandi minimalism. Bit of toddler's toothpaste Grin
