Talk to me about styling a heavy fringe.

I had one a couple of years ago and I'm having another one cut in next week. I have thick hair which generally takes well to a heavy, full fringe but I'm interested in hearing the MN take on styling tips and products etc.

My previous tactic was to dampen it a bit, give it a quick blast with the hair dryer and then GHD it followed by half a can of hairspray

However I have since bought a Babyliss Big Hair - are these any good for fringes?

Also please recommend any amazing fringe products. I want it to stay in place without looking like it's got tons of product in it.

There's a tutorial, I think by Sali hughes, which shows a way of drying it where you brush it briskly from side to side whilst pointing the hairdryer down the fringe. I sometimes use my straighteners too but the brushing gets rid of most issues.

not really sure of products, ( though I swear Elnett is the best hairspray)
but my tip on styling it is_ whilst it's still damp, brush from side to side, quickly, using hairdryer pointed towards the centre of the fringe. It makes it lie flattish ,without the "bump" you can get when using a round brush.

I have very high expectations about this blow drying approach now!

Did the blow dry this morning......fabulous........ but I was a bit rough with the brush and scratched my forehead 😳

(hope it's not too painful)

I'm also concerned about sweating under my fringe, although hopefully that won't be an issue until the summer when I will have got bored and grown it out again
