Why don't grey boots exist?

I've been trying to buy grey boots for ages like these White Stuff or these Dune ones

They say Grey and they look grey in the picks, but when they arrive, these are definitely brown. A grey "cold" brown rather than a warm orange brown but brown none the less. Anyone seen anything that's actually grey?

My Ash Jalouse in Woodash are definitely a cool grey tone.

These look grey and I really like them too

burnishedsilver · 14/12/2015 19:50

Try Mint Velvet - the home of all things grey.

Bouncearound · 14/12/2015 19:58

I got some in Debenhams last year and they're most definitely light grey!

Bunbaker · 14/12/2015 20:00

There are some nice ones at M and S
Here

Whenischristmas · 14/12/2015 20:00

I love the mint velvet ones but a bit expensive for me.

I bought a cheap suede pair from new look once but someone mistook them for slippers and I never wore them again.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/12/2015 20:04

They exist, because I have some beautiful ones from Whistles - but they are v few and far between and sometimes, even when they exist, they look like they are made of chopped up elephants.

These are nice but expensive

Clarks but not v nice unless better irl

Mine are a bit like these Whistles ones

Topshop Chelsea boot I like these

Floisme · 14/12/2015 20:24

I agree with you. I think grey is far more versatile than bloody black.

Anyway TK Maxx had some a couple of weeks ago. I can't see them online anymore but it might be worth looking in your local store. They were a bit like the Top Shop ones Remus linked but a dark grey, about £40.00. I'm wishing now that I'd bought them too as my grey pair (Carvella via TK MaXX from 3 or 4 years ago) are shot.

penguinplease · 14/12/2015 20:28

I got some nice ones from Oasis, I'm sorry I can't do a link but might be worth a look with 20% off at the moment

sparechange · 14/12/2015 20:32

I bought some from Atterly Road a few months ago, but they were in the sale so might be out of stock now
If you do find them, they come up small so you need to order the next size up!

MrsBalustradeLanyard · 14/12/2015 20:35

I've got pale grey nubuck Doc Martens and they are the business.

indecisivedoctor · 14/12/2015 23:12

I have these Boden ones in grey and get a lot of compliments.. Really versatile and go with a lot.

indecisivedoctor · 14/12/2015 23:13

Sorry- that link seems to go to the blue ones but scroll through and they have grey too..

WhataRacquet · 14/12/2015 23:23

New Look have proper grey. I have an old pair. www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-boots/grey/_/N-9pvZ1z141x2?intcam=INT-2015-16-WK21-BAN-ZBck-0026

There are some mouse-brown pairs on there too though.

DavetheCat2001 · 15/12/2015 07:30

These are in the sale www.mintvelvet.co.uk/grey-bernie-ankle-boot/sale/mint-v/fcp-product/5935

I've just bought them in khaki.

DavetheCat2001 · 15/12/2015 07:33

^ sorry just noticed they only have the grey left in size 3 ^

metimeisforwimps · 15/12/2015 07:39

No suggestions but glad to see I'm not the only grey footwear fan. I hate black shoes, and grey goes with both navy and black. I got grey uggs but suspect you are looking for something more elegant!

SinglePringle · 15/12/2015 07:41

Got heeled grey ones in Aldo 3 weeks ago.

prettygreen · 15/12/2015 08:49

I got these grey boots from Zara and love them. www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/shoes/view-all/leather-high-heel-ankle-boots-c734142p2886040.html

Bodicea · 15/12/2015 15:34

I have some grey Clarks leather boots but my mum is convinced they are brown. Granted over time as they have become more weathered they have started to look more brown where they are worn. She is adamant I am colour blind though!!! Must be a difficult colour to dye.

Thurlow · 15/12/2015 15:42

If you're a size 4, I have these which I don't wear anymore - they're lovely, really comfy and always get complimented, but they just don't seem to go with anything I own!

(Or anyone else for that matter Grin)
