Hi

In preparation for party season I'd love to find some super-glittery/sparkly eye makeup that looks amazing but also stays put! Does anyone have any recommendations please??

Urban decay is great. Sparkly eyeshadows and glittery liquid eyeliner. Their eyeshadow primer is also fab.

Chanel illusion d'ombre shadows. Especially the shade mirifique. They're creamy so really easy to blend and there's no fall out.

MAC pigments are also pretty good over other shadows to give them some sparkle.

Thanks guys... Had an urban decay makeover earlier and have come away with a few purchases!

If you want a proper glittery look that won't fall halfway down your cheeks during the evening, you need this. You can use something like the Stargazer cosmetic glitters or Lit glitters (more expensive but no better if you ask me...) - use a craft brush or a silicone glitter applicator rather than a naice makeup brush as it's hard to get all the glitter out afterwards.

I have this - works a treat over a bit of primer.

Be careful with the products that aren't eye safe, such as some types of glitter.

I bought a Laura Mercier Eye Glacé in Wet Sand the other day and it's lovely - it is very sparkly, can be worn on top of other eye shadows and lasts very well. It also doesn't have any fallout when applying or during the time it's worn - it lasts all day on me.

It can be sheered out so it's just sparkle/glitter or built up so it's more opaque metallic with the sparkle/glitter.

You can see some pictures here: ifmakeupcouldtalk.com/eyeshadow/laura-mercier-eye-glace-moonglaze-blazing-sun-and-wet-sand-review/
I do think that it sheers out more than on the picture on that blog though - on me, if sheered out completely, it has no colour, just the sparkle.

They do have a few other colours, and despite being a small tube, you really don't use very much at a time. I got mine from SpaceNK.

Yes, avoid nail type glitters - they're not safe for the eyes. Cosmetic glitters such as Stargazer (or Peaches and Cream sell their own brand too) are suitable and safe for eyes.
