Choice of two dresses and which shoes?

short

boots like these only nicer. More shoe boots and with a small platform. Very comfy and strangely very flattering for the legs.

long dress

sandals similar in style to these but blue/petrol not gold. Very sparkly, not so comfy.

The do is a Christmas party, officially smart casual but men will mostly wear suits and the women dresses. The long on is probably OTT, although people will dress up, but it (size 10) fits like a glove and I have another do requiring a long dress in the new year.

If I went for the short dress I'd wear opaques and the shoe boots

The long dress probably wants the sandals but I'm not sure about sparkle with sparkle and with that split my legs do need a bit of help from some lovely sheer tights, so sandals no good for that. Could I wear it with shoe boots? Might dress it down a bit?

Don't wear the long dress with the boots, unless you're a young trendy type and could pull it off.
Both dresses are lovely but I'd say the shorter one is more suited to the occasion.

I like both. If you're not going to feel over dressed I'd wear the long.

If you can't sparkle and shine during the festive season....when can you?

I think the long dress is fab. Very glam :)

DavetheCat2001 · 05/12/2015 19:19

I like the long dress and love those sandals

EmilyPunkhurst · 05/12/2015 19:20

I like both.

But not the long dress with the boots.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 05/12/2015 19:26

DavetheCat2001 · 05/12/2015 19:26

DavetheCat2001 · 05/12/2015 19:27

OP do you have a cat?

Cos then the cat could buy you one of the outfits for Christmas and you could buy the other?

If you are young then short dress with boots. My DD's (18 and 23) would rock that look. If older the long dress with sandals look might work better.

Short dress but not the shoe boots, don't like'em.

I think the long is too much for an office do.
