Thanks all! Black dress seems to win. I was going for red shoes and green necklace to add some festive spirit, but am relieved to hear ppl saying not to wear red shoes - they kill my feet! Will go with black or gold shoes.

Might wear green chandelier earrings with bright red lippy to add in colour :)

I feel very strongly that the first (black) dress is much much more flattering!

Black with black tights and black shoes. Not the red shoes. No to necklaces and no to green earrings. Silver sparkly earrings.

Well in the end I wore black dress, gold shoes, sheer stockings, diamanté chandalier earrings, hair down and wavy, Mac Ruby Woo red lipstick with gold eyeshadow and gel eyeliner with flick.
