Is this outfit just too boring..

..for a Xmas party? Basically black skinny jeans, a white silk blouse and heels.

The 'theme' is black and white (my company always insists on theming their Xmas parties..thankfully it's not full on fancy dress this year).

I could jazz it up a bit with some sparkle jewelry maybe? And I thought about getting some kind of sparkly flower to put in my hair.

I don't really want to spend money on a dress, and actually I'd rather be comfortable-ish.

Please be kind!

The outfit is super chic and very very nice.

Not a fan of the shoes but am not into flowers.
Go for it - elegantly understated.

The top is from Mint velvet. I got it on eBay.

MV do have some similar tops in store at the moment.

This one is similar. Not cheap though!

Like others, great outfit but not a fan of the shoes - might be OK for summer ( though too girly for my personal taste) but black would look so much more sophisticated.

polyhymnia · 04/12/2015 13:17

And I wouldn't put a necklace with that lovely blouse.

SheHasAWildHeart · 04/12/2015 13:21

Thank you :)

ooh that's lovely jibberjabber.

I really love those Victoriany tops. I think they look lovely with jeans.

Top and pants are fab, but change shoes to heels.

DavetheCat2001 · 05/12/2015 18:48

Can I just ask, would silver heels work or no?

OP posts:
polyhymnia · 05/12/2015 19:29

I think so but wouldn't go for 'fussy' ones.

friedafilmer · 05/12/2015 20:12

DavetheCat2001 - silver heels would be fine.

Yseulte · 05/12/2015 23:42

Silver would work but black would be better.

ChippyOik · 05/12/2015 23:47

you've a lovely figure. At the risk of soundling like father ted, show it off. keep the trousers and wear a more fitted shorter white top.

i like the idea of silver heels.

leccybill · 05/12/2015 23:48

Link to the Oasis one, anyone?

DavetheCat2001 · 06/12/2015 09:19

Aww thanks chippy x

Ok so I think the consensus is black heels would work best, so will keep my eyes open for a affordable pair.

Hope no one minds me resurrecting this thread!

So on all the great advice I got here, I have ordered these shoes from Oasis:

www.asos.com/oasis/oasis-cut-out-heeled-shoes/prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=5967907&clr=Black&SearchQuery=oasis+black&pgesize=36&pge=0&totalstyles=146&gridsize=3&gridrow=1&gridcolumn=3

What do you think? Will they work better? Thanks x

Those shoes are really lovely and will go with a lot of outfits.

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 11/12/2015 09:38

Yip they are perfect Dave, hope you have a good time.

DavetheCat2001 · 11/12/2015 12:29

Thanks Smile

I had to hunt about for a pair in my size. Just hope they fit!

Gorgeous shoes. Really perfect.

My fat trotters never fit properly into that type of shoe. I get the foot equivalent of builders bum cleavage Sad.

DavetheCat2001 · 11/12/2015 13:38

I'm the opposite. I have really bony feet and a lot of shoes are just too wide. Hoping as these ones have a strap they'll fit ok!

What say you?

Better?
