Rucksack

Neither stylish nor beautiful but I am looking for a Rucksack to use as a changing bag when I take the baby out in the sling (I have a nice skiphop bag which hangs from the buggy handles but isn't very comfortable to carry.)

I like the look of this one kipling firefly because it has lots of pockets, can convert to a shoulder bag (so I could still use it when ds is bigger and I want to carry him on my back) and it looks quite nice (Imo, compared to most Rucksacks at least! ).

However the reviews on amazon say it is quite small and I can't tell if it will be big enough for a change bag (nappies, wipes, spare clothes etc). Does anyone have this bag, or any other suggestions?

Thanks

So looking at their wewebsite I've seen it only measures 30 x 22cm which sounds too small. Has anyone seen anything similar but a bit bigger?

The Kipling Clas Seoul backpack will be a lot more roomy and has more pockets but won't convert to a shoulder bag :-(

On Amazon use the search words
Multifunctional changing rucksack

Example here

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00ORGFLXE/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_75_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=514Sb8iLj5L&dpSrc=sims&preST=AC_UL115_SR115%2C115&refRID=1CTNQVT640HMYQPH0ZMW

Thanks for your replies. Tate, that is exactly the kind of thing I need, thanks

The kipling Seoul also looks like a good option, jaeme.

Meanwhile I have found this one www.amazon.co.uk/Dakine-Backpack-Hana-26L-Claudette/dp/B00W6XIQQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449218775&sr=8-1&keywords=Dakine+hana+claudette which doesn't fit my original criteria at all but it is really pretty Blush Yes I know I am fickle!

I'm not sure if it matters that much that it isn't designed as a change bag as we don't use bottles so wouldn't use the bottle compartments and I have a little change mat I could put in.

Have a look at a company called Tiba & Marl, not sure what you're looking for budget-wise, but the rucksack changing bags are lovely!

LucyMouse · 04/12/2015 09:21

Cath Kidson also do a changing bag rucksack.

ScrambledSmegs · 04/12/2015 09:27

Personally I'd just get one that I really liked (Herschel is my ideal, but I actually have a cheap and pretty floral Accessorize one) and then buy a changing mat like the Skip Hop Pronto and keep everything else in large plastic resealable bags, like the ones from IKEA.

I know that sounds weird but after having a specific changing bag/rucksack for DC1 and hating it, I loved the freedom and flexibility of that. For one thing if something leaks all you need to do is throw away the plastic bag that it's in, not spend ages carefully cleaning out pockets etc.

SnozzberryMincePie · 04/12/2015 09:42

Smegs that actually makes sense to me, this is dc2 and I will need different things if I am out with the baby in a sling, or with both of them plus buggy (the skip hop one I have is fine for this), and dp usually just throws a nappy in his normal bag.

The tiba and marl ones are lovely, but £££

A friend of mine has this one, it converts to a backpack and it's good size. I think there are discount codes you can use for 30% off www.ilovemykanken.com/product/fjallraven-totepack-no-1-navy/

SnozzberryMincePie · 06/12/2015 20:49

Thank you mama. That one's nice but a bit £££ for me. I've gone ahead and ordered the pretty dakine one. Thanks all!

I have this one (though it comes in black too) and have a pouch with changing things and a pouch with spare clothes that just pop in. Theres room for both pouches, my sling, a few toys, a bottle and his coat. I would suggest visiting a bag shop to get the size, as abother one I thought would be big enough, wasn't. Sorry for the lengthy link.

Too late - that Dakine looks perfect too. Mine is 20L and is big enough, so 26L should be fine with room for a jumper for you too.

SnozzberryMincePie · 06/12/2015 22:26

I like that one, wildfire. I'm allergic to real life shopping these days...

I have the melobaby nappy wallet here and find it really great it fits 2-3 nappies wipes and a few hits n bobs (not as much as advertised in their tube ads though as it won't close then) it s really handy and fits in my handbag or in bottom or buggy
