Recommend me a hand cream for very dry hands

My hands get very dry and chapped in cold weather. I'm after a hand cream suitable for sensitive skin which absorbs quickly and doesn't feel greasy. Any recommendations? Something unperfumed would be good.

Aveeno. My hands get in a terrible state, but it really heals them.

That Norwegian stuff is very good. Neutrogena I think it's called.

Salmiak · 29/11/2015 21:01

I like the clarins one

Kiehls intensive moisturizer - well worth the investment as it lasts for ages and is so effective! http://www.kiehls.com/intensive-treatment-and-moisturizer-for-dry-or-callused-areas/295.html?dwvar2955_size=3.4%20fl.%20oz.%20Tube&cgid=body-hand-creams

Love and Light from Lush. Easily the best I've ever used, and vegan, which makes it incredibly easygoing on sensitive hands.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy

Aveeno Skin Relief works wonders on my really dry hands. Helps with my eczema as well which is a bonus!

Shesaysso · 29/11/2015 21:07

Only one that works for me is Body Shop Vitamin E hand cream.

MrsEdinburgh · 29/11/2015 21:10

Body Shop Hemp handcream
or
Cowshed Cowpat handcream
or
any L'Occitane handcream.

mummytime · 29/11/2015 21:11

Aveeno is my favourite at present. Neutrogena does nothing for me. I really find I have to use trial and error as what works for others might be useless for me. And I get angry when they change a formula.

patterkiller · 29/11/2015 21:11

Body shop hemp cream, I've tried a lot but this works long term the best for me.

PirateSmile · 29/11/2015 21:15

Another vote for Body Shop Hemp Cream. It really is the best I've ever used and a friend who works
In a care home and uses hand cream all the time say all the staff she works with swear by it.

SoupDragon · 29/11/2015 21:21

Not a hand cream, but I started using "Dr Bronner Almond Soap Bar" to wash my hands and haven't had to smother my hands in hand cream at all since the cold weather started. They are usually dry and sore across the knuckles especially.

I only bought because it smells of marzipan so wasn't expecting it to sort out my dry skin too. I got it from Ocado but I don't know where else it is available.

L'Occitane Shea Butter is very moisturising but feels matte on the skin (which is good if you detest the greasy hand feel)

BodyShop Absinthe smells fantastic and it's light. I haven;t tried hemp yet.

Sometimes when my hands get really painful (I'm an HCP who wears the vinyl gloves and does the 40+ handwashes a day + alcohol gel and NHS soap which is as rough as a bears arse), I use good old Vaseline and cotton gloves overnight.

I'd also recommend Flexitol applied to damp skin and cotton gloves (£Shop) as an overnight treatment

celtictoast · 29/11/2015 21:22

Neutrogena

ShatnersBassoon · 29/11/2015 21:23

Lotil is excellent, and very cheap. Slightly medicinal smell, but not unpleasant.

thatone · 29/11/2015 21:24

Body Shop Hemp hand cream is amazing

Cat2014 · 29/11/2015 21:37

Aveeno

LeSquigh · 30/11/2015 09:12

Another one here for the L'Occitane Shea Butter.

BellaVida · 30/11/2015 09:27

My hands chap and crack in cold weather too. The only thing that seems to help us the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula concentrated hand cream.

BananaPie · 30/11/2015 11:36

Thanks everyone. I'll give the hemp one ago first as it seemed to get the most votes.

Another vote for hemp, I've used the aveeno one too but much prefer the hemp one....need to buy more actually I'm running low!

BumgrapesofWrath · 30/11/2015 12:51
