Classy leather a-line mini?

I've decided to go crazy and get a leather a-line mini. Tried a faux one on in Warehouse which was okay but I would like to invest in a real one in black. 12/14, little waist, large-ish bottom...teeny tiny budget. Any suggestions please?

cranberry that looked so lovely I whooped for joy...then I saw how short it was from the back on a woman with no bum. I fear I would be arrested...!

kittens that is lovely too BUT I think I know where I'm going wrong - maybe I'm thinking of midi (is that the right term - a few inches longer but still well above the knee?) Will try googling in case it turns up something which will cover my arse Sad

I've ordered a mini faux leather shirt, but the tall section.
I'm hoping a couple of extra inches will make the difference.

I have this, which is faux leather, but looks great. I'm 5ft 6 and it's just a bit above my knee. I tend to wear it with crew-neck jumpers, opaques and flat Chelsea boots and have even worn it to work. I tried on loads of different ones -real leather was really what I was after - and this one was head and shoulders above the rest.
