Chloe Marcie Mini colour choice - please help me decide!

So, I have, after much deliberation over a number of months, decided to buy a Chloe Marcie Mini (instead of a Mulberry Lily that I love the look of but have heard negative things about the quality and it is more expensive). My dilemma is whether to buy the pale grey one - LOVE the colour, it will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe, or the black one - like it very much, will most likely be the lower maintenance and no risk of colour transfer as with the grey one. The black one is also £50 cheaper, but that isn't the deciding factor.

I am not really a black handbag person, although I could definitely use one particularly during the A/W. It just isn't as heart-stopping key beautiful as the grey one. But will the pale colour mean I am scared to use it?

Aaaaarrgggghhh, paralysed by indecision! Contributions/experiences welcome. TIA.

The grey. No experience, but youre talking about a very expensive thing. You should have the one you love not the one which is a practical option.

Bluecheese22 · 27/11/2015 14:25

Definitely grey! Black is so boring and grey is a brill neutral colour.

Bluecheese22 · 27/11/2015 14:27

And I agree with pp that you should have the one you love!

AmberNectarine · 27/11/2015 14:27

If you're not a black bag person, why would you buy an expensive black bag?! :)

Go with the grey, it's obvious that's your preference!

Whatthefoxgoingon · 27/11/2015 14:29

Grey. And then post pics Grin

Amber I know, although I do find myself thinking sometimes that a black bag would be useful. Doesn't make me want to sing with joy though Wink I was halfway through ordering the grey one on Net a Porter then I just had nightmarish visions of colour transfer, someone spilling red wine on it and I got cold feet.

Grey is nice but will get dirty

Also look at the bag then your loo seat

My kid drew my attention to this fact!!!

Bluecheese22 · 27/11/2015 15:19

Right decision!! No point owning something you don't love!!

Saurus72 · 27/11/2015 15:24

Kennington what am I missing - don't get your loo seat comment?

I bought a pale grey Anya leather bag over a year ago, not one mark, no transfers onto it. I still totally love it and wouldn't change the colour.

Kennington · 27/11/2015 16:15

I have one and the curved flap looks like a loo seat.

But it is the right choice and I love it! Enjoy.

I have a pale grey Mini Marcie and have used it nearly daily for a couple of years. No stains, no structural damage, and it goes with everything. I still love it, and it is so practical, but I got sucked in recently and bought a pale grey Chloe Drew - so now I alternate the two. I wear dark denim a lot and live in a rainy climate, so far no color transfer problems. So, a five star recommendation from me! If you have to choose between a Marcie and a Drew, the former is a better-designed bag. The Drew is difficult to close when my hands are full, the lock gets scratchmarks very easily, and it is not terribly practical on rainy days, and the chain is a bit flimsy. The Marcie is much sturdier. But both of them are great bags that I really enjoy!

Thanks for all your nice comments. Helping me stave off post-purchase guilt. It's the most expensive handbag I've ever bought, but I've wanted one for at least two years.

I've the grey, had it a few years, wear it everyday. It's often full of mud as it's out on dog walks, still gets compliments. Great bag. Well done!

AmberNectarine · 28/11/2015 22:23

Love that pic Frugal.

OP, congratulations :)

I have a parity in that grey. You won't regret it, it goes with everything - and much more subtle than black.

I love mine more now than when I bought it a year ago.

Saurus72 · 30/11/2015 12:50

She's here, she's beautiful and I have definitely made the right colour choice - loving the grey with the brass hardware. It looks a lot more robust than I expected which is a relief. Can't wait to go home from work and work out what fits inside! Woohoo Smile
