Which dress?

Please help ladies - I'm going to my first works christmas night in years and hardly ever dress up these days.
Which of these dresses do you think?

I'm a 43 year old, chunky thighed gal with boobage. I'd rather have a slight v neck but I like the style of lower part of these dresses

I like them both! Sorry, that's not helpful is it?

If you are big of boob, would this one work better?

Bluecheese22 · 27/11/2015 14:22

I much prefer the magenta one. The colour is gorgeous. I know what you mean about v-necks being better for big boobs though.

superbfairywren · 27/11/2015 14:23

I prefer the colours of the first dress you linked but also think you might be better with a lower neckline. Have you looked at lindybop? They have lots of dresses for about 15quid today in their sale and they are normally good quality.

BikeRunSki · 27/11/2015 14:33

I like the one London has linked.

superbfairywren · 27/11/2015 15:03

Yep, i agree, the Isabella dress is really flattering, I have it in polka dots!

ZaZathecat · 27/11/2015 15:03

The magenta one.

flier · 27/11/2015 15:39

Thanks ladies. The Isabella one is lovely too, but I find the bow at the cleavage too fussy for me.

OP posts:
superbfairywren · 29/11/2015 15:48

I think the bow can be removed, not entirely sure as mine isn't removable but I have a feeling they altered it so it clips on and off

SoWhite · 29/11/2015 15:55

First one - magenta.

Second one looks like the horrible curtains you'd find in a trying-too-hard tea shop.

Pantsalive · 29/11/2015 16:09

Have you looked at www.lindybop.co.uk? They have a half price sale on at the moment.

burnishedsilver · 29/11/2015 16:12

I like them both but like the magenta best.

patterkiller · 29/11/2015 16:14

Could you get the first one and see if a seamstress could alter the neckline? It's s lovely colour.

bakewelltarte · 29/11/2015 17:09

Love the magenta one!

KateSpadeAddict · 29/11/2015 17:17

I’m going against the tide here but I like the second one better! Much more Christmassy and formal looking. I think the magenta is lovely but teamed with the navy in the pattern makes it look less formal. Grin

possiblefutures · 29/11/2015 17:28

Ooh - the Lindybop stuff is nice! Can anyone tell me how their sizing compares to, say, Monsoon? Thanks!

Moohoomeltdown · 29/11/2015 17:30

Both lovely! I'd go with the first, warmer colour for Christmas. Enjoy your party!

Pantsalive · 29/11/2015 18:50

possible Lindybop sizes seem pretty accurate but not overly generous. I think they list the actual measurements of each garment on the website.

possiblefutures · 29/11/2015 19:11

Thanks Pantsalive!

And I also vote dress 1, OP...

flier · 29/11/2015 21:03

Thanks everyone. Magenta ordered.

superbfairywren · 01/12/2015 07:34

I have lindybop dresses and I don't go by their sizing/measurements. I just buy what I normally would in any other shop. I have 14 s and 16s where there sizing says I would need a 20. Both 14 and 16 fit well, not too tight(I just go by whether they have any stretch in or not)

Dowser · 01/12/2015 07:55

Yes magenta one for me too. But I would have got the sweetheart one and removed the bow.

But never mind. The other one is still gorgeous.
