Nasty - Checking New Clothes for Pins / Spikes etc

Just to let you know, I went to put this brand new sweatshirt on my youngest and saw, just in time (before dragging it down over his head and face), this nasty little sharp spike sticking out of the popper. It is from the baby dept of a very well known highstreet shop.

I don't usually feel the need to feel and check clothing for nasty pins or spikes before wearing but it just goes to show you can never be too sure...

Which shop? Have you reported it to Trading Standards?

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 23/11/2015 10:04

No I haven't CoastingIt, I am not in the UK but am sure that we have a local equivalent. Is this what I should do? TIA

I don't want to break any MN rules (if I do by naming names) but if anyone has this sweater they should recognise it as an orange cotton sweatshirt with a black scribble star design all over it.

Take it back and ask for a refund/exchange & check the replacement is ok.

Thanks BigGreenOlives but this isn't just a case of "Ooh, I've changed my mind" or "It doesn't fit"

I have been in touch with them and don't want anything off them, but they do have a duty to make others who might have a garment from this batch aware of this issue.

So as not to dripfeed, here's a pic of the sweatshirt. If you have it or get it as a gift please check it.
