[Utterlyclueless]

My sister loves pomegranate noir but it's now too strong for her as she's suffering with terrible migraines.

Is there a similar smelling perfume that isn't as harsh I can get her for Christmas? I'm not very good with this type of stuff

I like the English pear and freesia it's very fresh and not as strong as the pomegranate noir

Love grapefruit, but nutmeg and ginger is nice for winter

Blackberry and Bay

Perhaps she may like Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf? It has the same sweet spiciness.

I find it sickly

Maybe all perfumes will have that effect on her....perfume has that effect on my daughter.

None of those oils are terribly expensive and you would have loads left

The great thing about using pure essential oils to make a solid perfume is that you can create something that smells beautiful and also has therapeutic properties!
This means you can get really creative in blending oils to promote certain moods and emotions. Try this zesty citrus solid perfume blend. Not only will you smell fresh and fruity but the energising oils may also help you to get up and going in the mornings or be on top form for an evening out. It’s 2 in 1 - a sweetly beguiling and refreshing scent that can also awaken the senses and stimulate the mind!

You'll need:

4 tablespoons of beeswax pellets
4 tablespoons of carrier oil
30 drops of Lavender
30 drops of Rosemary
35 drops of Lemon
20 drops of Grapefruit
Empty jars or moulds for the finished product.
To make things easier you can blend the essential oils together in a bottle before you start making the perfume.

Place the beeswax pellets in a bowl and suspend over a pan of simmering water. Stir gently and melt slowly. Once melted, add the carrier oil and ensure it’s fully mixed in. Then add the essential oil blend and mix well. Pour into the containers and allow to set for 1-2 hours. That's it!

If she's having migraines is it because of the perfume, do uou think, or is she just generally more sensitive? Trouble is, you can't be sure whatever you choose for her won't trigger it.
There's a service by Nose, where you tell them your five favourite perfumes and they send you several tiny sample vials of equivalent scents, or ones made to have similar notes (think that's the right term).
At least then she could try lots of different ones and maybe find one she likes that doesn't give her a headache.
They also tend to be ones you don't see on the high street, which gives it a nice exclusive feel.

No she's having migraines due to other issues and she can wear other perfumes but she said the pomegranate noir just makes them hurt more, I'll get her to have a go of spice bomb!
