Going to an evening wedding today. Church service then reception.

I have a black velvet dress I look and feel amazing in...

Or a blue dress I feel ok in but tbh I feel so meh in it.

Black shoes and tights to go with both.

Can I wear all black to a wedding? I don't really know anyone but my partner... I can't get to a shop to get something else.

Could you maybe wear a coloured blazer or jacket or even jewellery and clutch to lighten it up?

Wear the black!

ShebaQueen · 21/11/2015 17:20

Deffo wear the black, totally acceptable for evening wedding in winter I'd say.

Wear the black

DirtyBlonde · 21/11/2015 19:28

I really wouldn't wear black to a wedding.

Not that people would comment to you about it at the do. But it's very much frowned on by many people. It's not all about you. Wear the blue.

73dexter · 21/11/2015 19:33

It's not been frowned upon for many years now! Weddings are so much more relaxed now with dress codes.

CoconutAmericano · 21/11/2015 20:36

Oh the black, wear the black!

Agrestic · 22/11/2015 00:57

Wasn't the only one wearing black either Smile

Fantastic! I really don't think it matters to an evening do. One of my guests wore a long white dress to the evening part of our wedding. A few people were very Shock. I couldn't have cared less as long as everyone had fun what they wore.
